Abstract

The invention relates to the field of production of bitumen-polymer compositions used in construction, and can be applied, in particular, in building units for waterproofing, thermal insulation and soundproofing, as a binding material for tiles, parquet, as a roof or ground covering, etc. The bitumen-polymer composition contains bitumen, rubber latex, tuff powder and water, with following proportion of components, mass %: bitumen 5-20; rubber latex 5-20; tuff powder 5-60; water the remainder. The adhesive and waterproofing, soundproofing and thermal insulation qualities of the composition are improved.

Description

Bitumen-polymer composition
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of production of bitumen-polymer compositions used in construction and can be applied, in particular, in building units for waterproofing, thermal insulation and soundproofing, as a binding material for tiles, parquet, and as a roof or ground covering, etc. Background Art
Bitumen compositions and methods for obtaining thereof are widely known. A method for producing bitumen-polymer compositions can be mentioned as one of the analogues, which is characterized by the following proportioning of components, kg/min: bitumen 0.120-0.391; granulated butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomer 0.092-0.300; waste products from synthetic rubber and latex production 0.033-0.109; chalk 0.028-0.092; wastes from industrial oils 0.005-0.018 [I].
Also known is a bitumen composition, containing components with following proportion, mass %: bitumen 70-79; butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomer or rubber crumb, which is a mixture of waste products from the production of butadiene-styrene latex and synthetic rubber,
9.5-15; low-molecular copolymer of butadiene with piperylene or with acrylonitrile 1.0-3.0; plasticizer 8.0- 10.0; stearic acid 0.5-1.0; surfactant 1.5-3.0 [2].
We have chosen the bitumen emulsion used as a binding material for road carpet and for repairing thereof as a prototype. The bitumen emulsion contains, mass %: bitumen 66-69; hydrochloric or acetic acid 0.20-0.24; amine emulsifier 0.3-3.0; latex 2.0-6.0; water - the remainder [3].
Among the disadvantages of both the prototype and all above-mentioned analogues the insufficient adhesion, as well as relatively low waterproofing, soundproofing and thermal insulation properties can be named. The objective of the invention is the improvement of adhesive and waterproofing, soundproofing and thermal insulation qualities of the composition. Disclosure of the Invention
The essence of the invention is the bitumen-polymer composition containing bitumen, rubber latex and water and which according to the invention contains additionally tuff powder and has the following proportion of components, mass %: bitumen 5-20 rubber latex 5-20 tuff powder 5-60 water the remainder.
The boundary values of intervals are defined from following considerations: if the content of bitumen is less than 5% then sufficient viscosity is not provided, and if it is more than 20%, the quality of product diminishes. If the content of latex is lower than 5%, the adhesive properties of the composition deteriorate, and if it is higher than 20%, the cost of production increases because of high price of rubber latex.
The tuff powder is an inert micronized filler, providing the composition with waterproofing, soundproofing and thermal insulation properties. At the same time it is a coloring ingredient, imparting pleasant hue to the composition. In case the content of tuff powder is less than 5%, the aforementioned qualities deteriorate substantially, and if more than 60%, the adhesion diminishes and the product acquires concrete-like properties. Example 1 For the preparation of 5 kg of bitumen-polymer composition 400 gram of bitumen was picked and placed in a polyethylene barrel-like vessel by a putty knife. Then 300 gram of rubber latex was added into the same vessel and the compound was poured over by 300 milliliters of water. After stirring by a propeller device at 800 rev/min throughout 15 minutes a black paste-like homogeneous viscous substance was obtained. Later, tuff waste was picked and sifted through sieve No. 2. The derived powder with particle sizes of up to 2 mm was transferred into the receiving feed bin of a jet mill for further grinding and mechanical activation of tuff powder by collision method. Next, 3 kg of resultant powder was weighed, 100 g was selected as a sample and placed into the receiving bin of Krooch multifrequency sieve analyzer for determining the particle sizes. The measurements showed the particle sizes to be within the range of up to 20 microns, which fully meets the requirements for particle sizes. Then, the whole powder was deposited in a second vessel, poured over by 1 liter of drinking water and stirred by a mixing device in the course of 10 minutes. After mixing the resultant suspension was transferred to the first vessel and stirred throughout 30 minutes, after which 4.9 kg of homogenized ready-to-use product was obtained. Example 2
For the preparation of 5 kg composition 1 kg of widely known bitumen-rubber paste for waterproofing covers available for purchase was procured and then tuff powder and water according to Example 1 were added to it. The proposed composition can find wide application as a waterproofing material for foundations, pipelines, roofs, exterior walls, basements, bathroom equipment, also as a soundproofing and thermal insulation material for walls, ceilings and partitions. Due to good adhesion to stone, metal, concrete, wood and other construction materials, the composition is an excellent binding material for tiles, foam plastic and parquet. The composition can serve as a self-leveling floor in industrial, sport and other structures. It is also worth mentioning that the product is environmentally safe and fire-safe.
