Abstract

A well logging instrument (40) includes a radiation generator (44) and a high voltage power supply (52) functionally coupled to the generator. The generator and the supply are longitudinally separated by a distance sufficient for emplacement of a radiation detector. At least a first radiation detector (45, 46, 47) is disposed in a space between the generator and the supply. The instrument includes an electrical connection (54) between the supply and the generator.
