[Mode for Invention] Now, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a view illustrating the construction of a small money donation system according to the present invention. The system shown in FIG. 1 includes a donation card 10 possessed by a customer, a card terminal 20 installed in a taxi or an authorized member store, such as a drugstore or a convenient store, and a bank processing system 40 for transferring a donation from a customer to an account of a donation organization. The system shown in FIG. 1 further includes an operating server 30 for transmitting donation information inputted from the card terminal 20 to the bank processing system 40 and informing a received result to a customer. A small money donation method of the system with the above- described construction shown in FIG. 1 will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 2.
A customer joins the operating server 30 as a member on-line or off-line, and selects a desired organization from specified welfare foundations, religious organizations, the Red Cross Society, or fund-raising organizations as a donation organization (Step 201). The operating server 30 issues a donation card 10 corresponding to the donation organization selected by the member customer to the member customer (Step 202). Of course, it is possible that the customer directly joins a desired donation organization as a member and is issued the donation card 10 from the donation organization joined by the customer. Alternatively, it is possible that the customer directly joins a desired donation organization as a member, a corresponding donation organization system 50 requests the operating server 30 to issue the donation card 10, and the customer is issued the donation card 10 from the operating server 30. In this case, the corresponding donation organization system 50 provides member information and/or card issue information to the operating server 30. When joining as a member, the customer registers his/her e-mail account, mobile phone number, or facsimile number to receive the details of the donation. Here, the donation card 10 is issued in the form of a magnetic (MS) card or an integrated circuit (IC) card. Alternatively, the donation card 10 may be issued in the form of a mobile card using a mobile device, such as a mobile phone. When a customer who is issued the donation card 10 purchases goods at a donation card member store or uses a means of transportation, such as a taxi, pays a price or a taxi fare in cash, and small money is left over (Step 203), the customer presents the donation card 10 and expresses an intention of donation (Step 204). Of course, even not for the cash settlement, the customer may present the donation card 10 to a contracted member store and express an intention to donate small money carried with the customer. When the customer does not have an intention to donate small money, the member store hands over corresponding small money to the customer (S210). When the customer expresses an intention of donation, card information of the donation card 10 is read by the card terminal 20 installed in the member store (Step 205), and the small money is inputted as a donation (S206). The card terminal 20 transmits the inputted small money and donation information including the card information to the operating server 30 (Step 207). The operating server 30 stores donation information transmitted from the card terminal 20 of the member store, and transmits the stored donation information to the bank processing system 40 in real time or periodically in a bundle. The operating server 30 also transmits the donation information to the corresponding donation organization system 50 such that the donation organization can check the details of the deposited donation. The bank processing system 40 withdraws small money to be donated from an account of the member store included the donation information transmitted from the operating server 30 and transfer the withdrawn small money to a registered account of the corresponding donation organization (Step 208). The bank processing system 40 reports the processed result to the operating server 30, and the operating server 30 transmits the received result to a mobile phone designated by the customer using an SMS message or to an e-mail account of the customer so that the customer is notified of the donation result (Step 209).
In this embodiment, the donation card 10 is additionally issued and used. However, it is also possible to utilize a cash receipt card or a point card, which is being commercialized now, as the donation card through cooperation with authorities or enterprises concerned.
For example, when the customer presents his/her cash receipt card and expresses an intention to donate small money, while the customer pays a price in cash at the member store, card information of the cash receipt card is read by the card terminal 20 installed in the member store, and the money to be settled in cash and the small money are inputted. The card terminal 20 of the member store reports the details of cash transactions to the Office of National Tax Administration via a VAN company and transmits the inputted small money to the operating server 30 such that the donation is processed. Of course, even not for the cash settlement, the customer may present the donation card 10 to the member store and express an intention to donate money carried with the customer. At this time, the card terminal 20 of the member store reports the details of the donation to the Office of National Tax Administration via a VAN company and transmits the inputted money to the operating server 30 such that the donation is processed. In this case, the Office of National Tax Administration may administrate the details of the donation by the customer to utilize them as materials for a year-end tax adjustment.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
