Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To provide a frameless three-dimensional digital magnifying glass cum a head-mounted display opening the peripheral field of view in which the image display portion is not shifted from the field of view irrespective of the movement of the head, such as inversion or another upward, downward, leftward, or rightward movement, the image is displayed in such a way as to cut off the front field of view while ensuring the peripheral naked-eye field of view, nondisplay area within the field of view of the image display device is eliminated, music sound and an image can be appreciated simultaneously or selectively by means of an integrated sound device, and the display is adaptable to sudden position change. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A three-dimensional digital magnifying glass cum a head-mounted display opening the peripheral field of view comprises an image display unit having a sculptured surface prism so shaped that its mirror-coated concave reflective surface is not viewed around the field of view of the convex reflection transmission surface of the sculptured surface prism or used for magnifying/recognizing the displayed image by means of an eyepiece when the image display unit has a refracting prism. The image display unit is worn on the head of the user by means of three fixing points i.e., ear rods each having an earphone and a saddle-like nose pad. The head-mounted display further comprises a flip-up mechanism for the image display unit. Two imagers are focused on the dominant-eye side, and the immediately-preceding display image is maintained when sensing the variation of the position exceeding the frame rate.
