Abstract

An electrical accessory charging compartment (28), an interface device (50) and a retrofit for creating a charging compartment (28) and a cabinet (22) with an electrical accessory charging compartment (28) on its exterior. A plurality of electrical connections (30) is located in the charging compartment (28) for supplying electricity to a plurality of consumer electronic devices simultaneously. A plurality of data connections (44) is located in the charging compartment (28) for transmitting data to and from the plurality of consumer electronic devices simultaneously. The interface device (50) for a plurality of consumer electronic devices is provided with a connector member (52) having a plurality of outlets (54) arranged to supply electrical power and provide data connections to a plurality of consumer electronic devices, and a data connector (56) arranged to be connected to a data network.
