Abstract

A security system monitors a number of entry point(s) having an entry mechanism to gain access to an enclosed space (100). A RFID (radio frequency identification) tag is located on a number of the entry mechanisms (110, 120, 130) to be monitored. A tag-reader (115) is located within the space (100), such that, when an entry mechanism is in a closed state, a tag located thereon is located within a detection range of the tag-reader (115), and when the entry mechanism is in an open state, the tag is located outside of the detection range of the tag-reader (115).
