Abstract

The present invention provides a long-bone endoprosthesis having an essentially spherical head (10) characterized by the presence of a plurality of crater-like depressions (12) distributed over its outer surface, and further characterized in that substantially the entire outer surface has an average micro -roughness in the range of 1 to 1000 micrometers.
