Abstract

An elliptical exerciser comprising a frame (12), a crank assembly (14) providing a crank axis (CA) fixed with respect to frame (12) above the horizontal surface, left and right pedal members (20, 22) having rear portions (24, 26) connected with left and right cranks (16, 18) respectively, left and right rollers (28, 30) mounted on frame for rotation about a single rolling axis (RA) parallel with respect to crank axis (CA) in a forward position above the horizontal surface a distance less than the distance of crank axis above horizontal surface, left and right pedal members (20, 22) having straight downwardly facing surfaces (32, 34) rollingly supported on left and right rollers (28, 30) respectively, left and right pedal members (20, 22) providing left and right foot supporting structures of improved construction enabling a user to impart cyclical movements to the pedal members (20, 22) resisted by a variable resistance assembly (40).
