Abstract
A light source which can be used in a range of medical applications, has a handle in which a magnet moves inside a coil of wire to generate an electric current in the coil to power an LED. The handle can be attached to a range of instrument head devices such as a laryngoscope, ophthalmoscope, otoscope etc. to provide light from the LED for the instrument head via a light guide.
