Abstract

An implant includes a plurality of parallel layers spaced apart by a plurality of members. Each layer has a substantially uniform thickness between opposite surfaces and a plurality of openings that permit fluid flow through an interior of the implant defined by the layers. The surfaces of each layer includes an array of micro-structures. Each micro-structure has a substantially uniform shape and an average height of about 1 nm to about 20 µm.
