Abstract

The invention relates to communications systems, in particular to a method for organising and delivering digital audio information using Internet engineering. The inventive digital broadcasting method consists in forming and delivering audio information via the Internet to specialised receivers without using a personal computer (PC). The broadcasting process consists in forming an information content in a studio and in delivering said content to users by a plurality of servers which perform billing, access control and security functions. The reception, decoding and transmission of video streams in a digital form is carried out by a Wicom Home Receiver (for use at home) and a Wicom Car receiver (for use in a car) which are embodied in the form of remotely upgradable radio receivers. Said method for organising a broadcasting service using a digital video stream transmission via the Internet and devices for carrying out said method make it possible to serve users remote from radio stations at an arbitrary distance, do not depend on the specificity of air broadcasting networks, provide a high audio quality via the low-speed Internet channels and to use an easy-to-use remote-control multichannel radio receiver enabling to add new functions into a user's menu.
