Description

The present invention relates to the field of presentation of information in an ambient manner. In the present application, said ambient manner of presenting information designates a display which is generally non-textual. The present invention relates more particularly to a system for presenting information in an ambient form, allowing this information to be perceived almost unconsciously in everyday life. The prior art already knows a device and a method for displaying information. electronic in an ambient form described in the American patent application US 2003/0076369 and the international application WO 03/026252. The requests considered describe a system consisting of presentation objects, a means of configuring said objects by means of configuration rules, a centralized server receiving said configuration rules and various types of information from remote sources. . Said server comprises units for translating and encoding the information received and means for concatenating and scheduling in packets the data thus obtained. The data is then transmitted to said remote objects by wireless communication means, said objects displaying the data by means of data representation in a non-textual manner (lights, gauges, shapes, sounds, etc.). The device considered centralizes data processing operations at a server level. The object of the invention is to optimize the format of the data in order to improve the time and the costs of transmission of the server. to distant objects. Said optimization lies in the formatting of the data according to the use made of the bandwidth required for the transfer. The technique used is similar to broadcasting. Data intended for different recipients is processed and concatenated into a single data packet, then this packet is widely distributed to all recipients. Each recipient receives all of the data, but uses only that which concerns them. The prior art has the drawback of centralizing the reception and processing of information at the level of a server. The presentation terminals are reduced to simple serving objects, slaves of the server. The present invention intends to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art by integrating a means of processing data at the level of the terminals and means of receiving information directly at the level of said terminals. The terminals therefore receive autonomy from the server. The invention offers the advantage of richer interactivity as well as great modularity. In addition, the various devices are capable of being autonomous, even when they are disconnected from their server. The present invention is of the type described above and it is remarkable, in its broadest sense, in that it comprises at least one terminal for presenting information communicating with computer equipment receiving signals from at least a source providing ambient variables, and in that the computer equipment comprises a control law server receiving personalization parameters and delivering a digital function to at least part of said ambient terminals, and in that said terminals ambient include an integrated processing unit delivering a control signal from the information presentation means as a function of said digital function provided by the control law server on the one hand, and data representative of the variables on the other hand on the other hand. Advantageously, said computer equipment also comprises an information server receiving the signals coming from the ambient sources and delivering digital ambient data to said terminals. In addition, said information server comprises a means of filtering the signals coming from the ambient sources. Advantageously, said terminals include means for communicating directly with ambient sensors. Preferably, said terminals incorporate at least one room sensor. In addition, said terminals include means for communicating with one another. According to a particular embodiment, said information presentation means provide a source of light. Preferably, said light source is of color, shape, pulsation, and variable intensity. In addition, said presentation of information is carried out sequentially. Method for presenting functions of room variables information, consisting in controlling at least one terminal by computer equipment receiving signals from room sensors, characterized in that the states of the room terminal as a function of the signals d ambiance belong to distinct classes each corresponding to a family of signals and each associated with a color mode. The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description, given below for purely explanatory purposes, of an embodiment of the invention, with reference to the appended figures: FIG. 1 illustrates a diagram of a mode making the device; and FIG. 2 illustrates a diagram of an embodiment of the presentation part. The invention relates to a system for presenting information in an ambient manner. The system comprises two distant parts from each other, a so-called server part 1 and a so-called presentation part 2, which are connected together by means of communication 3, such as a wireless network (WiFi, GSM, GPRS , Pager, Current carriers, UMTS, 802.11 ...), radio connections ... The server part 1 consists of a control law server 4 receiving personalized parameters 5 used to configure the presentation part 2, d 'an event handler 6 and an information server 7 receiving variables from different sources. The control law server 4 makes it possible to configure the presentation part 2 via agents 8 which are transmitted via the communication means 3 to said presentation part 2. The configuration of the terminals 14 is carried out by the through a device of the type connected to a network such as an Internet browser, a telephone, a PDA, etc. The event manager 6 receives from outside the system or from devices implementing the present invention, events 9 (reception of SMS messages, email, etc.) and is responsible for transmitting them via the communication means 3 to the devices. The information server 7 performs a filtering of the information received 10, for example by average, ratios, course of graphs ... The relevant information is stored before being transmitted to the presentation part 2 via the means of communication 3. The sources of information 11 group together sources external to the system, such as websites relating, for example, to the stock market or meteorology, and sources belonging to the presentation part. The presentation part 2 is composed of at least one terminal 14 receiving information from the server part 1 by network connection means 16, as well as from information sources such as remote sensors 12 or integrated into said terminal 14 or from the from other terminals 14. Said sensors 12 can be sound, temperature, hygrometric receivers, etc. which perceive and transmit ambient data 13 located around said sensor to the terminal 14. The information received by the terminal 14 undergoes processing 18 before being transmitted to a presentation means 15 in the form of a signal 17. The presentation is therefore carried out as a function of the signal 18 received which depends on the configuration function 8 sent by the control law server 4 and on the information transmitted by the various sources. The presentation of the information takes place visually and in particular in a luminous manner, for example diodes (LEDs) or liquid crystals. A sound presentation, a change of form or a generation of odor can be envisaged. The information values can be represented by the light intensity or by the pulse frequency. Two constraints are present in the implementation of ambient information presentation: the first relates to the way in which one can convey several information and the second relates to the way in which one recognizes the type of information which is being represented. The invention responds to these two constraints as follows: the user selects a color for each type of information and this information is expressed in this color using as frequency the frequency, the intensity, the pulsation, the phase. .. This process also makes it possible to discern certain messages by the simple fact that they are multicolored.
The invention is described in the foregoing by way of example. It is understood that a person skilled in the art is able to carry out different variants of the invention without going beyond the scope of the patent.
