Abstract

The invention relates to a coolant for a laser assembly, whose heat is dissipated by the coolant, which is conducted in a coolant circuit. Said coolant consists of a liquid medium, which contains at least one additive that is dissolved in the coolant, said additive coating the surfaces of the cooling circuit that come into contact with the coolant with an inorganic or organic protective coating. The coolant is used in a method for operating the laser assembly.
