Abstract

The invention relates to a method for interrogating electronic labels which have an identifier and are fed by a periodical magnetic field generated by an interrogation station. Said method comprises an emission stage for at least part of the descending messages, wherein the interrogation station emits a pulse for varying the magnetic field for feeding the electronic labels, over a duration that is sufficiently short that the feeding of the electronic labels is not interrupted, and a duration that is sufficiently long that the fed electronic labels detect said pulse for varying the feeding magnetic field. Preferably, for each row of identifiers of the electronic labels that is different to the last row, the inventive method comprises a response stage (254, 454, 654) for each non-inhibited electronic label comprising a pre-determined symbol for the row of the identifier thereof, the labels not comprising the pre-determined symbol for the row of the identifier thereof not responding, and a stage for moving on to the next row (216, 259, 416, 462, 616, 659).
