Abstract
The invention concerns a method for detecting abnormal fluid consumption in a fluid dispensing circuit (1), the circuit (1) comprising a meter (3), measurement analyzing means (4) and warning means (5) concerning abnormal fluid consumption. The method comprises the following steps: measuring a flow rate of fluid consumed using the measuring means (4); calculating two variables based on the flow rate measurement: variation in the flow rate between two consecutive measurements and the time elapsed during which the flow rate remains within a range of predetermined flow rate values; calculating an abnormal consumption probability based on the measured flow rate and the two variables; comparing with the analyzing means (4) the probability computed to a threshold probability; if the computed probability is higher than the threshold probability, a signal is transmitted to the warning means (5).
