先ず、 第 1図のカプセル内視鏡の内部構造を示す側面図を参照して本実施の形 態にかかるカプセル内視鏡の構成を説明する。 第 1図に示すように、 カプセル内 視鏡 1 0は、 体腔内の画像を撮像し得る撮像手段 1 1と、 体腔内部を照明する照 明手段 1 2と、 これらに電力を供給する電源手段 1 3と、 内部に上記撮像手段 1 1、 上記照明丰段 1 2及び上記電源手段 1 3を少なくとも配設したカプセル筐体 1 4とを有する。
― ここで、 本実施の形態では、 カプセル筐体 1 4は、 上記撮像手段 1 1及び上記 照明手段 1 2からの照明光 Lを導出し、 該照明光 Lが撮像部へ反射し難い照明光 用窓部 2 0 aを備えてなる先端力パー部 2 0と、 上記照明手段 1 2を覆う先端力 バー部 2 0と、 該先端力パー部 2 0と水密手段 2 1を介して水密状態に設けられ 、 内部に撮像手段 1 1等を配設してなる力プセル胴部 2 2とからなり、 必要に応 じて後端カバー部をカプセル胴部 2 2と別体に設けるようにしてもよい。 なお、 本実施の形態では後端力パー部は力プセル胴部と一体に設けられており、 平坦形 状としている力 その形状をドーム形状とするようにしてもよい。
また、 第 3図に示すように、 先端カバー部 2 0は照明手段 1 2からの照明光 L を透過させるフラット状の照明用窓部 2 0 aと照明範囲を撮像する凸形状とした 撮像用窓部 2 0 bとに分けるようにしてもよい。 なお、 先端力パー部 2 0はその 全体が透明である。 上記撮像手段 11は、 撮像基板 24に設けられ、 照明手段 12からの照明光 L によって照らされた範囲を撮像する例えば CCDからなる固体撮像素子 25と、 該固体撮像素子 25に被写体の像を結像する固定レンズ 26 a及び可動レンズ 2 6 bからなる結合レンズ 26とからなり、 固定レンズ 26 aを固定する固定枠及 ぴ可動レンズ 26 を固定する可動枠によるピント調整手段 28によりシャープ な結像を行っている。
なお、 本発明では、 撮像手段として、 上記 CCDに限定されるものではなく、 例えば CM〇 S等の撮像手段を挙げることができる。
また、 上記照明手段 12は、 照明基板 30に設けられ、 例えば発光ダイオード (LED) からなり、 照明手段 12は、 撮像手段 1 1を構成する結像レンズ 26 を中心とし、 その周囲に複数 (本実施の形態では、 4個) 配設されている。 また、 上記電源手段 13は、 内部スィッチ 31が設けられた電源基板 32に設 けられ、 電源として例えばボタン型の電池 33を用いるようにしている。'なお、 本発明では、 上記電池として例えば酸化銀電池を用いているが、 充電式電池、 発 電式電池等を用いるようにしてもよい。
- 上記内部スィツチ & 1 しては、 例えば磁石により ON動作を行うものを用い ている。
また、 本実施の形態では、 上記 種の手段以外に、 無線基板 41には外部と無 線通信を行うためのアンテナ等からなる無線手段 42が設けられており、 必要に 応じて外部との通信を行っている。
また、 上記各種手段を処理又は制御するための信号処理 ·制御手段 43が撮像 基板 24に設けられており、 カプセル内視鏡での各種処理を実行している。 ここで、 信号処理'制御手段 43は、 例えば相関二重サンプリング (CDS) 等からなる画像データ生成等の映像信号処理機能と、 B 像信号と同期信号の混合 (アナログ伝送の場合) 、 誤り訂正符号の付加 (デジタル伝送の場合) 等を行う 送信用信号作成機能と、 変調器と協働して例えば PSK, MSK, GMSK, Q MSK, ASK方式に変換する変調機能と、 スィッチの ON— OFFに応じて電 源の供給を制御する電源供給制御無能と、 L E D駆動回路等の駆動回路と、 撮像 枚数を制御するタイミングジェネレータ (T G) 機能と、 ライン'フレーム等の パラメータ等の諸データを記憶する記憶機能等から構成され、 各種信号処理 ·制 御を行っている。
上記信号処理は、 例えば画像データ生成以外に、 例えば画像データ補正 (ホヮ イトパランス (WB ) 補正、 0;補正、 色処理、 AG C等) 、 場合によりアナログ —デジタル変換 (AD C) 、 調光機能 (A E) 等の処理を行っている。
つづいて、 本実施の形態によるカプセル内視鏡システムについて第 2図を用い て説明する。 第 2図は本実施の形態によるカプセル内視鏡システムの概略図であ る。 上記カプセル内視鏡 1 0を用いて検查をするに際しては、 第 2図に示すよう なカプセル内視鏡システムを用いて行うようにしている。
本実施の形態によるカプセル内視鏡システム 5 0は、 たとえば第 2図に示した ように、 カプセル内視鏡 1 0およびそのパッケージ 5 1、 患者すなわち被検査者 5 2に着用させるジャケット 5 3、 該ジャケット 5 3に着脱自在の受信機 5 4、 受信機 5 4で受信した情報を処理するワークステーション 5 5により構成される 上記ジャケット 5 3には、 カプセル内視鏡 1 0の無線手段 4 2から発信される 撮像画像の電波を捕捉するァンテナ 5 6 a, 5 6 b , 5 6 c及ぴ 5 6 dが設けら れ、 受信機 5 4との間で無線もしくはケーブルによる有線にて通信可能に設けら れている。 なお、 ジャケット 5 3に設けたアンテナの数はとくに 4個に限定され ず、 複数あればよく、 これにより、 力プセル内視鏡 1 0の移動に伴う位置に応じ た電波を良好に受信することができる。
上記受信機 5 4には、 観察 (検査) に必要な情報を表示する表示部 5 7および 観察 (検査) に必要な情報を入力する入力部 5 8が設けられている。 また、 受信 機 5 4は、 受信された撮像画像データを記憶する C F (コンパクトフラッシュ ( 登録商標) ) メモリ 5 9を着脱可能に装着することができる。 さらに、 受信機 5 4には、 携帯時にも電源供給可能な電源部 6 0および観察 (検査) に必要な処理 を行う信号処理 ·制御部 6 1が設けられている。 上記電源部 6 0としては、 たと えば乾電池、 L iイオン二次電池、 N i水素電池等を例示することができ、 充電 式であってもよい。
ワークステーション 5 5は、 医者もしくは看護士がカプセル内視鏡 1 0により 撮像された患者体内の臓器などの画像に基づいて診断を行うための処理機能を有 している。 このワークステーション 5 5には、 C Fメモリリーダ/ライタ 6 1が 設けられており、 図示せぬが、 受信機 5 4、 C Fメモリリーダ/ライタ 6 1とそ れぞれ通信可能に接続するインタフェースを有しており、 C Fメモリ 5 9のリー ド Zライトなどを行う。
また、 ワークステーション 5 5は、 ネットワークに接続するための通信機能を 有しており、 このネットワークを介してデータベースに患者の診察結果などを蓄 積する。 さらに、 ワークステーション 5 5は、 表示部 6 2を有しており、 受信機 5 4から患者体内の撮像画像データを入力して表示部 6 2に) βなどの画像を表 示する。
第 2図に示すように、 検査を開始する前において、 パッケージ 5 1からカプセ ル内視鏡 1 0を取り出し、 被検査者 5 2が口から当該力プセル内視鏡 1 0を飲み 込むことにより、 食道を通過し、 消化管腔の蠕動により体腔内を進行し、 逐次体 腔内の像を撮像する。
そして、 必要に応じて又は随時撮像結果について無線手段 4 2を介して撮像画 像の電波が出力され、 ジャケット 5 3の各アンテナ 5 6 a〜 5 6 dでその電波が 受信される。 受信電波強度の高いアンテナからの信号が体外の受信機 5 4へ送信 さ る。
受信機 5 4においては、 C Fメモリ 5 9に逐次受信される撮像画像データが格 納される。 なお、 この受信機 5 4は力プセル内視鏡 1 0の撮像開始とは同期して おらず、 入力部 5 8の操作により受信開始と受信終了とが制御される。 また、 撮 像画像データとしては、 動画的に表示するために複数コマ Z秒で撮像した静止画 像データでもよいし、 通常の動画像データでもよい。 力プセル内視鏡 1 0による被検查者 5 2の観察 (検査) が終了すると、 C Fメ モリ 5 9を C Fメモリリーダ Zライタ 6 1に揷入し、 該 C Fメモリ 5 9に格納さ れている撮影画像データがケーブルを介してワークステーション 5 5に転送され る。 ワークステーション 5 5では、 転送されてきた撮像画像データは患者別に対 応させて記憶される。
このように力プセル内視鏡 1 0で撮像され、 受信機 5 4で蓄積された体腔內の 撮像画像データは、 ヮータステーション 5 5の表示部 6 2により'画像表示される 。 これにより、 超音波プローブ、 内視鏡等では到達し得ない体深部 (小腸等) の '画像を得ることができる。
ここで、 本実施の形態にかかる先端カバー部について第 1図、 第 3図及び第 6 図を参照して詳細に説明する。
本実施の形態にかかる先端力パー部は、 第 1図及び第 3図に示すように、 上記 撮像手段 1 1及び上記照明手段 1 2を覆うと共に、 上記照明手段 1 2からの照明 光 Lを導出し、 照明光 Lが撮像部へ反射し難い照明光用窓部 2 0 aを先端カバー 部に形成しており、 第 1図に示す実施の形態では、 先端力パー部 2 0を全面フラ ット形状とし、第 3図の実施の形態では先端力パー部 2 0の撮像用窓部 2 0 b部 分を凸形状としている。
いずれの場合でも、 照明手段 1 2からの照明光 Lの反射による撮像手段 1 1へ の影響を防止するように、 照明用窓部 2 0 a部分をフラット形状としている。 これにより、 照明光 Lが照明用窓部 2 0 aの光軸中心部分は照明用窓部 2 0 a に対してまっすぐに入射し、 反射光が撮像手段 1 1に入射することなく導出光 D Lとなって体腔内を照明することになり、 反射によって撮像手段 1 1に影響を与 えることがなくなる。
また、 第 3図及ぴ第 4図に示す先端カバー部 2 0のように、 中心部分が突出し て ώ部 2 1 aを形成し、 該突部 2 1 a以外は平面状の照明光 Lが撮像部へ反射し 難い照明光導出窓部 2 1 bとすることにより、 カプセル内視鏡 1 0を被検査者 5 2が飲み込んだ際における飲み込み易さを向上するようにしている„ 本実施の形態のような先端カバー部 2 0とするこれにより、 第 5図に示すよう に、 照明手段 1 2からの照明光 Lの中心光軸と照明光用窓部 2 0 bとが直交する ようにしているので、 第 6図に示すように、 撮像手段 1 1を構成する結像レンズ 2 6内に反射するのが防止されることになる。
すなわち、 照明光 Lは照明光用窓部 2 0 aに対してまっすぐ入射して、 通りぬ けやすく、 撮像手段 1 1側には反射することがないので、 フレア等が防止される また、 第 6図に示すように、 照明光用窓部 2 O bと照明手段 1 2との β巨離 Dに ついては、 例えば 0 . 0 l〜3'mmの範囲、 好ましくは 0 . l〜2 mmの範囲と するのが好ましい。 これは、 距離 Dが 3 mmを超えると、 例えば L E Dの場合で は放射状に射出するので好ましくないからである。
また、 先端カバー部 2 0のカプセル胴部 2 2との接続部分は R形状を施してい ることが好ましい。 これは曲面を付与していると被検査者が飲み込み易いからで ある。
また、 照明手段 1 2とフラット形状の照明用窓部 2 0 aとの距離が短い場合に はフラット形状の照明用窓部 2 0 aの面積が照明手段 1 2の表面の面積に対して 多少小さくともよいが、 両者の距離が長くなるような場合には、 少なくともフラ , ット形状の照明用窓部 2 0 aの面積が照明手段 1 2の表面の面積に対して略同一 の大きさとする必要がある。 これは、 照明手段 1 2と,フラット形状の照明用窓部 2 0 aとの距離が長くなるにつれて反射光が撮像手段 1 1側へ到達しゃすくなる からである。
以上述べたよう.に、 この実施の形態によれば、 照明用窓部を照明光が撮像部へ 反射し難いものとしているので、 撮像手段側への反射が防止されクリァな画像を 得ることができる。
また、 このカプセル内視鏡を備えたカプセル内視鏡システムとすることで、 精 度の高い検査が可能となる。 産業上の利用可能性
以上のように、 この発明は、 医療用の内視鏡に関し、 特に体腔内の画像を撮像 する飲み込み型の力プセル内視鏡およぴこれを用いた力プセル内視鏡システムに 適している。·

Claims

請 求 の 範 囲
1 . 体腔内の画像を撮像し得る撮像部を有する撮像手段と、
体腔内部を照明光により照明する照明手段と、
i 前記撮像手段および前記照明手段に電力を供給する電源手段と、
前記撮像手段及び前記照明手段を覆うと共に、 前記照明手段からの照明光を導 出し、 照明光が撮像部へ反射し難い照明光導出用窓部を備えてなる先端カバー部 と、
前記先端カバー部と水密に設けられ、 内部に前記撮像手段、 前記照明手段及び 前記電源手段を少なくとも配設してなる内視鏡カプセル筐体と、
を備えたことを特徴とする力プセル内視鏡。
2 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明光導出用窓部が、 照明手段からの照明光が当該照明光導出窓部にて反 射した場合において、 前記撮像手段に入射し難い距離間隔を、 前記照明手段との 間に有することを特徴とする力プセル内視鏡。 .
3 . 請求の範囲第 2項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明光導出用窓部と照明手段との距離間隔が 2 mm以下であることを特徴 とするカプセル内視鏡。
4 . 請求項の範囲第 2項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明手段と撮像手段との隣接距離が 1 mm以下であることを特徴とする力 プセル内視鏡。
5 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明光導出用窓部が、 照明手段における発光表面を前方から略完全に覆い 得ることを特徴とする力プセル内視鏡。
6 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明光導出用窓部が、 照明手段からの照明光の中心光軸と直交する方向に 配設してなることを特徴とするカプセル内視鏡。
7 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記照明光導出用窓部が、 樹脂又はガラスからなることを特徴とする力プセル 内視鏡。
8 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記先端カバー部が、 その中央部分において前記照明光導出用窓部を除いて曲 面凸状部を形成してなることを特徴とする力プセル内視鏡。
9 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記撮像手段を中心としてその周囲に前記照明手段が少なくとも 2以上配設さ れていることを特徴とする力プセル内視鏡。
1 0 . 請求の範囲第 1項に記載のカプセル内視鏡において、
前記撮像手段からの撮像情報を外部へ送信する通信手段を備えたことを特徴と するカプセル内視鏡。
1 1 . 請求の範囲第 1 0項に記載のカプセル内視鏡と、
力プセル内視鏡を使用開始前まで被覆するパッケージと、
力プセル内視鏡からの送信信号を外部で受信する受信装置と、
受信装置からの情報を処理する情報処理手段と、
を備えたことを特徴とするカプセル内視鏡システム。
