Abstract

Currently, endoscopes are exclusively monitored for connectivity to a limited extent. One method, for example, involves measuring the consumption of current through a tubular pump in a rinsing process. One problem of said measurement is the lack of precision. The inventive device and the method enable channels to be monitored for connectivity in a continuous manner. The endoscope channel monitoring method and device include a constant source of compressed air which is serially connected to a throttle valve and to an endoscope channel which is to be measured. Pressure measurement produced according to the throttle valve enables information on the connectivity of the endoscope to be obtained. The inventive device and method can be used in endoscopes in, for example, clinics.
