The invention also relates to a container having means for implementing said method.

Description

PROCEDE D'OUVERTURE D'UN RECEPTACLE A EMBOUT CASSABLE ET RECEPTACLE LE METTANT EN OEUVRE METHOD OF OPENING A RECEPTACLE WITH BREAKABLE END AND RECEPTACLE USING THE SAME
The invention relates to a method of opening a receptacle such as a cartridge for example for the distribution of a liquid, viscous or pasty product such as • putty, through a cannula coming to bear on the tip of the receptacle initially closed before use and subsequently perforated, for dispensing the product. The invention also relates to receptacles with a particular tip implementing this opening method. Everyone knows of liquid, viscous or pasty products contained in plastic tubes or cartridges intended to be used with an application cannula which is plugged in on a nozzle initially closed in order to ensure perfect sealing of the tube or cartridge. before use and during storage. It then remains for the user to open the end of the tube or of the cartridge and then to place on this end a cannula adapted to the particular application envisaged. The difficulty then resides in the opening of the endpiece and for this it is often compulsory to have a cutting or perforating tool which is not always on hand.
Solutions are already known for the opening of end pieces also forming a cannula as is for example described in US Patents 4,408,699 and US 2001/9754 both providing for the opening of the end of the cannula by tearing off an end piece along a rupture line, this piece can then be used as a cap of the cannula after opening. As regards attached cannulas, a solution of this type is also described in US Patent US 5,560,521 where the base of the cannula is shaped to be fixed on the end of the cartridge while perforating it in order to create a passageway for the product. The technical complexity of this solution makes it almost inapplicable in applications where the cost of the receptacle must be greatly lowered given the products to be distributed.
To overcome all of these drawbacks related to the complexity of the solutions or even their size when the nozzle acting as a cannula lengthens the receptacle, a particularly advantageous solution is now proposed, both because it proceeds from a separable cannula, usable as a tool for opening the receptacle to which it is secured by means very simple coming directly from the injection of the receptacle.
Conformément à l'invention il est à cet effet proposé un procédé d'ouverture d'un réceptacle pour la distribution d'un produit liquide, visqueux ou pâteux au travers d'une canule rapportéeAccording to the invention there is proposed for this purpose a method of opening a receptacle for the distribution of a liquid, viscous or pasty product through an attached cannula.
We understand all the interest of this process where we advantageously use the size of the application cannula to lever on a part of the end piece integral with the receptacle in order to detach it along a rupture line while leaving a part of it on which the product application cannula is finally fitted.
In this regard and according to a general embodiment of the invention, there is also provided a receptacle with a breakable tip allowing the receptacle to be fixed to the base of a cannula for dispensing a pasty, viscous or liquid product, said tip being initially closed then perforated. before use of the product through the cannula implementing the method according to the invention; this receptacle is remarkable in that its tip comprises over its entire height fixing means capable of cooperating with corresponding means of the base for fixing the cannula and at mid-height about a peripheral line of weakening of the thickness of the end piece and members linked to its upper part to facilitate the extraction of this part of the base when the end piece is broken along this weakening line.
Under these conditions, it suffices to screw the cannula onto the upper end of the nozzle provided in its middle part with a rupture zone by weakening its thickness, then by a simple rocking movement on the. cannula, the upper part of the endpiece is broken, which then suffices to extract by suitable means, thus freeing the threading of the base of the cannula which is finally screwed onto the lower part of the threaded endpiece remaining in square .
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages ressortiront mieux de la description qui va maintenant être donnée d'une exécution préférée d'un réceptacle à embout mettant en œuvre le procédé conforme à l'invention donnée à titre d'exemple non limitatif en référence aux dessins annexésOther characteristics and advantages will emerge more clearly from the description which will now be given of a preferred embodiment of a tip receptacle implementing the method according to the invention given by way of nonlimiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings.

- la figure 1 est une vue en élévation et en coupe médiane d'un ensemble constitué d'un réceptacle du type d'une cartouche (représentée de manière partielle selon une partie comportant l'embout) et d'une canule d'application montée sur l'embout avant ouverture de l'embout,- Figure 1 is an elevational view in median section of an assembly consisting of a receptacle of the type of a cartridge (shown partially in a part comprising the nozzle) and an application cannula mounted on the nozzle before opening the nozzle,
- la figure 2 représente la même vue que précédemment dans laquelle la partie supérieure de l'embout a été cassée par un mouvement de flexion de la canule d'application,FIG. 2 represents the same view as previously in which the upper part of the end piece was broken by a bending movement of the application cannula,
- la figure 3 représente en élévation et en coupe médiane l'extraction de la partie supérieure de l'embout du culot de la canule d'application, - la figure 4 est une représentation en élévation et en .coupe médiane de la canule vissée sur la partie inférieure de l'embout cassé conformément à la figure 2.- Figure 3 shows in elevation and in median section the extraction of the upper part of the tip of the base of the application cannula, - Figure 4 is a representation in elevation and in .Cut of the cannula screwed on the lower part of the broken end piece according to figure 2.
With reference to the figures, the receptacle 1 is a plastic cartridge containing for example a product such as mastic or any other pasty or viscous or even liquid product, of cylindrical shape to be inserted in a piston distributor (not shown in the figures) intended to repel the putty contained inside the cartridge 1 so that it is expelled towards the outside through a cannula 2 facilitating its application. The cannula 2 is traditionally of elongated shape comprising at its base a cylindrical base 3 provided with means for fixing to a nozzle 4 secured to the cartridge 1 or resulting from the injection of the latter; generally, the distal part of the cannula 2 is shaped frustoconical, which conventionally provides the advantage of being able to adjust the diameter of the outlet opening 5 which regulates the thickness of the bead of product applied.
As already mentioned in the preamble, it is in principle necessary to perforate the tip 4 of the cartridge 1 before mounting a cannula 2 to dispense the product contained inside. Generally this operation requires the use of a sharp or perforating tool which is generally a tedious and even dangerous operation even impossible if one does not have a suitable tool.
Considering the fact that the cannula 2 which most of the time accompanies the cartridge 1 could serve as a tool for practicing the opening of the end piece 4, a new lever function has been devised making it possible to easily break the end piece 4 into two substantially equal parts along a breaking line 6 advantageously provided at mid-height of the end piece 4; according to Figure 1 the nozzle 4 directly from the molding of the cartridge 1 and extending at its upper end, is of cylindrical shape and comprises from top to bottom a thread 7 on its outer face, a closing cloth 8 coming close the upper end of the nozzle 4 preventing the product contained in the cartridge 1 from escaping before its use.
The rupture line 6 consists of a zone of weakening of the thickness of the wall of the end piece 4 extending roughly halfway up the end piece 4 and advantageously all around the latter and in any case, over a distance ensuring a total break in the upper part 9 of the end piece 4 when a tilting force F is applied (FIG. 2) to the cannula 2, thus creating a clear break in the weakening line 6 creating a decapsulation of the tip 4 as shown in Figure 2; the lower part 10 of the endpiece 4 thus released then has an open end 11 such as to let the contents of the cartridge 1 come out.
In accordance with FIG. 3, the upper part 9 of the end piece 4 still has to be extracted by unscrewing it, as indicated in D in FIG. 3, from the base of cannula 2; at. this effect, it is advantageously provided to have at least one wing 12 coming from the upper bank of the weakening line 6, that is to say from the bank situated on the side of the free end of the end piece when it is complete, this wing extending radially outward from the end piece 4 to provide a sufficient grip for the extraction, that is to say in the present example, for unscrewing (arrow d figure 3) of the upper part 9 of the end piece after rupture. As finally shown in FIG. 4, it then suffices to screw the base 3 of the cannula 2 which has been released from the upper part 9 of the end piece, on the lower part 10 having the same external thread to create a solid connection. between the cartridge 1 and the application cannula 2. It will be observed here that the flange (s) 12 facilitating the disengagement of the upper part 9 of the end piece 4 comprising the closure cloth 8, advantageously constitute a final stop for the screwing of the cannula 2 on the upper end 9 of the endpiece before opening, which guarantees a rupture of the endpiece necessarily along the weakening line 6. As a variant, one could naturally use any other means of fixing than threading for firstly securing the cannula 2 to the upper part 9 of the endpiece 4 in order to decapsulate it; one could for example use a groove or bayonet system (not shown in the figures) which would then be reproduced on the lower part 10 of the nozzle to achieve the final connection of the cannula 2 to the cartridge 1, according to the last step of the process according to the invention. Similarly, the wings 12 facilitating the disassembly of the upper part 9 of the end piece, broken along line 6, could be replaced by elements coming into relief on the internal surface of the channel of the end piece 4, for example an imprint with 4 or 6 sides, which would be able to cooperate with a tool of corresponding shape, for example an Allen key, for the extraction of the base of the cannula 2; such a tool (not shown in the figures) could be a simple boss coming from the injection of the cartridge 1, projecting from an available part of the surface of the same cartridge 1, as for example on the opposite side of that which includes the end piece 4.
Similarly, one could still and without departing from the invention, provide no outer wing 12 and give the upper part 9 of the end piece a length allowing it to protrude sufficiently out of the base comprising for this purpose an internal stop at the end thread, after breaking along line 6, so that part 9 can be extracted by hand according to the penultimate stage of the process.
It goes without saying that any other means of securing the cannula to any one of the parts 9 or 10 of the nozzle would constitute a simple adaptation which cannot in any case depart from the scope of the invention; this would for example be the case with a tip according to the invention but the upper part (9) of which would be smooth and would thus fit just into the base of the cannula over a sufficient height to obtain the break in line 6 by bending the cannula.
