Abstract

Zum Einbetten von Wasserzeicheninformationen in ein Informationssignal, das Audio- und/oder Videoinformationen umfaßt, werden zunächst eine Synchronisationssequenz mit einer Mehrzahl von Synchronisationssequenz-Einheiten und eine Datensequenz mit einer Mehrzahl von Datensequenz-Einheiten bereitgestellt (10, 12, 14), wobei zwischen der Datensequenz und der Synchronisationssequenz eine zeitliche Verschiebung vorhanden ist, und wobei ein Grad der Verschiebung von den Wasserzeicheninformationen abhängt. Eine Kombinationseinrichtung (18) erzeugt eine Kombinationssequenz mit einer Mehrzahl von Kombinationssequenz-Einheiten aus der Synchronisationssequenz und der bezüglich der Synchronisationssequenz verschobenen Datensequenz, wobei die Kom-binationssequenz-Einheiten von Synchronisationssequenz-Einheiten und verschobenen Datensequenz-Einheiten abgeleitet sind. Die Kombinationssequenz wird mit dem Informationssignal zusammengeführt (20), um die Wasserzeicheninformationen in das Informationssignal einzubetten. Ein Wasserzeichen-Extraktor erhält für jede Datensequenz-Korrelationsspitze eine derselben zugeordnete Synchronisationssequenz-Korrelationsspitze und kann somit sicher und robust die Wasserzeicheninformationen auf der Basis des zeitlichen Abstandes zwischen der Synchronisationssequenz-Korrelationsspitze und der Datensequenz-Korrelationsspitze ermitteln. Das Konzept ist robust, liefert eine hohe Datenrate und ist zugleich flexibel hinsichtlich der Gewichtung von Synchronisationsenergie und Datenenergie bzw. hinsichtlich Robustheit einerseits und Datenrate andererseits.
