Abstract

Beginning with an isosurface, image forces are determined for vertices of a mesh according to a three dimensional image of a tubular vessel, such as a blood vessel. The image forces are applied to relocate the vertices into relative positions corresponding to a contour of the vessel, thereby providing improved representations of vessels. The improved representations, for example, facilitate estimation of the degree of stenosis in blood vessels of subjects suffering from atherosclerotic disease.
