Abstract

The implementation of an advanced shopping system in three shopping environments in a store (A), at home or office (B) and shopping on the go (C). A shopper (11), which is a system user, is shopping in a store (A) that includes a selling-area (13). The shopper (11) holds in his hand a shopping cart-unit (12), which is based on a dual-interface smart card. Items are presented for sale in the selling-area (13), wherein an item-unit (14) is located close to each of the item presented for sale in the selling area (13) and wherein each item-unit (14) contains in its memory distinctive item-information details that specofies the associated item. The shopper (11) selects an item that would purchase and positions of shopping cart-unit (14) that is associated with the selected item.
