Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing explosives, especially propelling charge powder, from a stabilised explosive, especially a humidified stabilised explosive. Said method comprises dehydrating, gelatinising and processing the raw material to produce a granulated material by means of a shearing cylinder in a granulating device. The granulated material is formed into a block by means of an isostatic press, in a warm state and immediately after the granulation. Subsequent processing of the block is carried out in a conventional manner, e.g. by means of a hydraulic press.
