Abstract

The invention relates to ginger oil which is incorporated in microcapsules which are subsequently fixed to any fabric that is used to produce clothes and underwear. In this way, microcirculation is improved significantly and swelling and heavy leg sensations are almost eliminated. Said beneficial effect is cumulative over time by means of the constant topical delivery of ginger oil. According to the invention, the ginger oil can be used in the pure form thereof or together with other active agents.

Description

TITLE Use of ginger oil incorporated in microcapsules fixed on any textile to improve microcirculation and eliminate the feelings of swelling and heavy leg.

The Cosmetic industry has put a large quantity of finished products on the market, using all kinds of dosage forms such as, for example: O / W emulsions and

W / O, milks, ointments, hair lotions, shampoos, soaps, powders, sticks and pencils, sprays, body oils.

These finished products transport and facilitate the cutaneous availability of molecules or mixtures of molecules synthesized industrially by chemical means, by biotechnology or naturally contained in plant or animal extracts.

These molecules carry the desired biological activity which is at the very basis of the production and marketing of these finished products.

To deliver these molecules and these products at the cutaneous or capillary level, it is necessary to carry out a topical application, regular with in certain cases, of the imperatives to respect like for example the daily repetitiveness, before or after another application of any complementary product.

To overcome this drawback and this constraint, it has been proposed to fix the molecules on the textiles of clothing and underwear by all kinds of physical or chemical processes (for example US 4234627, FR 2789073, EP

0436729).

With the prevention or improvement of wrinkles, the improvement of microcirculation and the virtual elimination of feelings of swelling and heavy legs are among the most sought-after cosmetic effects. The invention which is the subject of this patent application resides in the use of microcapsules containing ginger oil permanently fixed to any commercial textile, for example those from which stockings and tights are made.

In fact, the microcirculation improvement and the virtual elimination of the swelling and heavy leg sensations sought are obtained. These effects are powerful and long-lasting, which will be illustrated later in this patent application. Together with Yhuile ginger, it is possible to use other assets, alone or mixed together, such as shea butter, menthol or other similar molecules like Frescolat ^®, vitamins such as vitamin K or phytoménadione. Ginger oil contains various compounds whose virtues explain the traditional use which is made of these rhizomes, to relieve stomach pains, hemorrhages and for their activity stimulating the peripheral blood circulation, activity also demonstrated in analysis of skin blood flow. Frescolat ^® , a chemical structure very similar to that of menthol, provides a lasting feeling of freshness which contributes to the feeling of lightness.

Vitamin K1, or phytomenadione is an essential vitamin for the synthesis of blood clotting factors. This vitamin is normally supplied to the body by green vegetables and vegetable oils. Vitamin K has been clinically shown to be active in the treatment of rosacea by strengthening the wall of blood capillaries.

The association of these three liposoluble active ingredients, in encapsulated form, makes it possible to protect the active complex until the moment of delivery, by rupture of the membrane of the capsule in contact with the skin. The other active ingredient (s) used (s) can enhance the activity of the ginger oil itself, produce synergistic effects or stabilize the composition until the ginger oil is delivered by the micro-capsules. . The encapsulation of ginger oil, alone or in combination with another active ingredient or with other active ingredients, can be carried out according to any conventional process or not, such as for example that described in patent application FR / 00.06604. Depending on the properties desired for the final product (for example: stability over time or speed of delivery of the encapsulated product), it is possible to choose or adapt the encapsulation process, to obtain microcapsules whose size varies between 2 and 100 μm. For those skilled in the art, it is easy to determine the average amount of ginger oil, and that of other active agents possibly added to this oil. ginger, trapped in microcapsules, for example, from an aliquot of microcapsules that have been mechanically or chemically exploded before.

The amount of ginger oil in the suspension of microcapsules is 35 ±

65% (w / w). To illustrate this discovery, the following example will describe the improvement in microcirculation and the virtual elimination of the swelling and heavy leg sensations observed during the reported study.

A sensory study was set up on 16 female volunteers to assess the effect of a 15 denier tights 85% polyamide veil, 15% elastane, carrying microcapsules containing ginger oil.

For this test, only one leg of the pantyhose was treated by the microcapsules, the volunteer being able to compare the sensations on his left leg and on his right leg at any time.

The volunteers (52 years on average) were selected on the following criteria: • Frequently feeling heavy legs and / or swollen ankles,

• Having these sensations on both legs / ankles,

• Not to be under venotonic or venoprotective medical treatment,

The side of the leg with the treated side is randomized (8 on the right, 8 on the left). The panelists had a 12-entry questionnaire, YES or NO responses, to be completed on the last day of the test. The YES expressed the feeling of improvement of the criterion concerned while the NO indicated a worsening of this parameter. Results - Criteria: Improvement

On the 5 criteria, a clear difference appears in favor of the YES answers, therefore going in the direction of improvement, between the leg wearing the treated veil compared to the leg wearing the untreated veil. The results are against the untreated side and all the criteria vary in the same direction indicating a consistency of the sensations felt. The difference between the 2 legs is much greater in the swelling of the ankle and leg, feelings of heaviness, cramps and pain, which are felt much more strongly for the leg with untreated veil.

The percentages show a differential of -12% to -31%.

The answers by YES or NO to the 7 criteria of positive feelings leading to a satisfaction expressed overall, are reported in the following table (Δ = Differential):

On these 7 criteria, a clear difference appears in favor of the YES answers, therefore going in the direction of improvement, between the leg wearing the treated veil compared to the leg wearing the untreated veil. The results are in favor of the treated side and all the criteria vary in the same direction indicating a coherence of the sensations felt.

The difference between the 2 legs on the sensations of freshness and lightness are very strongly felt with the treated veil: + 43.7% and + 37.5%. Comfort and well-being stand out with + 18.8%.

A new sensation is reported by 62.5% of the panelists, which is 31.2% more than for the untreated side.

Thus, the improvement noted between Jl and J5 is very much in favor of the treated veil: + 31.2%. Together, the different criteria allow the panelists to display an overall satisfaction of 81.3%.

The opinions expressed show a differential ranging from 18.8% to 43.7%.

In conclusion, this sensory study conducted on 16 panelists selected to frequently complain of a feeling of a heavy leg and swollen ankles, having worn a pantyhose for one day, one of the legs of which was treated with ginger oil, revealed that all the panelists established a difference in sensation between the leg with the treated veil compared to the untreated side for the 12 criteria investigated.

Regarding the criteria for improving their initial state, a large majority are in favor of the treated veil since on average, 12.5% of them experience swelling of the legs on the treated side against 43.8% on the untreated side , or a differential of - 31.3%.

The cramps are improved by 12.5% and the feeling of heaviness in the legs is reduced by 25.0%. Regarding the criteria of positive sensations, the treated veil brings + 43.7

% freshness, + 37.5% lightness, comfort and well-being are increased by +

18.8%.

In addition, 62.5% of the panelists perceive a new sensation which accompanies an improvement in the feeling from D1 to D5. All the results show a very broad consensus on the superiority of the veil treated with ginger oil with overall satisfaction expressed by 81.3% of the panelists.

Slightly better results have been obtained when ginger oil is added to other products such as, for example, shea butter, menthol or other similar molecules like Frescolat ^® , vitamins like vitamin Kl or phytomenadione, these products being added alone or mixed together, to ginger oil. This patent application therefore describes the use of ginger oil incorporated in microcapsules, fixed by any means whatsoever, on any textile used for the manufacture of clothing and underwear, in particular on stockings or tights in order to to obtain a significant improvement in microcirculation and the virtual elimination of swelling and heavy leg sensations. The microcapsules have a size which varies from 2 to 100 μm and the quantity of ginger oil in the solution of microspheres varies between 35 and 65% (w / w).

Ginger oil is, or is not associated with, linked to, or mixed with any other molecule (s) or product (s), alone or in combination with each other, in microcapsules, such as, by for example, shea butter, menthol or other similar molecules like Frescolat ^® , vitamins like vitamin Kl or phytomenadione.

The microcapsules containing ginger oil, alone or associated, or linked, or mixed with any other molecule or product, are used or not with other active agents or molecules or products fixed or deposited in any way on the tissue used.

1. Use of ginger oil in microcapsules in order to obtain a significant improvement in microcirculation and the virtual elimination of feelings of swelling and heavy leg over time by the constant topical delivery of ginger oil.

2. Microcapsules according to claim 1 characterized in that their size can vary between 2 and 100 μm.

3. Microcapsules according to any one of claims 1 to 2 characterized in that the amount of ginger oil in the microcapsule solution varies between 35 and 65%.

4. Microcapsules according to one of claims 1 or 3 characterized in that they contain other molecules associated with or linked to Yhuile ginger, particularly, shea butter, menthol or other similar molecules such as Frescolat ^®, vitamins like vitamin Kl or phytomenadione.

5. Use of microcapsules according to one of claims 1 to 4 by fixing, by any means whatsoever, these microcapsules on any textile used for the manufacture of clothing or undergarments.

6. Use of microcapsules according to claim 5, characterized in that the clothes or underwear are stockings or tights.

7. Use of the microcapsules according to one of claims 1 to 4, with other active agents or molecules or products fixed or deposited in any way whatsoever on the tissue used according to one of claims 5 to 6.
