Abstract

Character input rate of a prior art portable telephone is low because characters are inputted using only the thumb. When the inventive portable telephone provided with one joystick, two shift keys and twenty six keys on the opposite side faces is grasped by both hands and ten fingers of both hands are used, any one of twenty six alphabetical characters can be inputted by a single depressing operation without switching of a shift key, and since characters can be inputted by blind touch, they can be inputted at an ultrahigh rate. A novel epoch-making field is developed for a portable telephone as a communication means and convenience of a user can be enhanced significantly.
