Abstract
It is intended to provide a stent which can be held in a stable state without any degradation or deterioration of a physiologically active biological substance and, in case of being left in a lesion site, can be gradually released over a long period of time without quickly releasing the physiologically active biological substance within a short time. A stent 1 involving a cylindrical stent body (2) having openings at both ends in the longitudinal direction; and a sustained-release coating of a physiologically active biological substance formed on the surface of the stent body. The coating is composed of a physiologically active biological substance layer (3) formed so as to cover the surface of the stent body; and a polymer layer (4) formed on the physiologically active biological substance layer (3) so as to cover the physiologically active biological substance layer (3), characterized in that the physiologically active biological substance layer (3) contains at least one fat-soluble physiologically active biological substance and the polymer layer (4) contains a polymer compatible with the physiologically active biological substance and fine particles (5) with a particle diameter of 5 μm or less distributed in the polymer.
