Abstract

The invention provides a device and a method based on known set top box technology enabling the display of internet contents in a conventional TV set, by means of which reception of multimedia objects is made possible by means of a simple, additional device (3). According to the invention, the data supplied is decompressed by the simply configured additional device (3) by means of a central decoder (1) and streaming technology known per se and converted into the image and audio signals (15 and 16) required for displaying on the TV set (4).
