Abstract

The present invention relates to a device (10) and method for loading packaged merchandise onto a display peg (22). The device (10) includes a gathering mechanism for gathering together a group of packages (20) such that hanging holes (18) provided in individual packages (20) are aligned so as to permit the gathered packages (20) to be applied to the display peg (10) together with the device (10). In use, packages (20) are attached to a looped carrier (12) of the gathering mechanism such that the packages (20) are gathered together with the hanging holes (18) in substantial alignment with each other. The gathered packages (20) are then applied to the display peg (22) together with the looped carrier (12) by causing the display peg (22) to pass through the aligned hanging holes (18) of the gathered packages (20). Thereafter, the looped carrier (12) is removed from the gathered packages (20) to thereby release them onto the display peg (22) for individual dispensing therefrom.
