Definitions
- the invention relates to a mattress made of latex, foam or other elastic material, the lying property of which is tailored to the physical conditions of its user.
- the mattress is divided into zones that are assigned to individual body areas. Each zone has a different compressive strength, as is required for the respective body part, in order to provide the patient with a physiologically balanced and pressure-relieved position of his body. In this way, valuable health effects can be achieved, such as extensive relaxation of the muscles, reduction of the contact pressure and avoidance of deformations on the musculoskeletal system.
- Latex or foam mattresses are already known which have a shape or structure geared towards the human anatomy. So there are z. B. zone mattresses that have different strengths at different points due to certain technical measures on the mattress core. However, this structuring is of a general nature, that is, it is not tailored to the individual physical needs of the individual user. Such mattresses are already provided with such zones during production, which can then no longer be changed - neither in terms of the intensity of the pressure behavior nor in terms of their positioning. Since every person is different, such zone mattresses only imprecisely cover their users' ergonomic lying requirements and therefore in many cases do not adequately cover them.
- the mattress is divided into zones that have two important criteria.
- the mattress has a certain variability in use, which makes it possible to adapt the mattress to the physical conditions of its user, but also to change it if something changes on the body of the user.
- the mattress can also be tailored to another user at any time.
- chambers are worked out from its top or bottom at any number of locations and at any distance in the transverse direction of the mattress (FIG. 1).
- the cross-sectional shape of these chambers is arbitrary, also their size (Fig. 3).
- the chambers are either located directly on the surface so that they can be operated from the outside, or they are located inside the mattress.
- vertical incisions lead from the surface to the individual chambers. This allows the mattress to be pushed apart, which means that the respective chamber can be operated.
- the individual chambers can be filled with segment strips of any material quality and strength (Fig. 5, FigJ). They can also remain empty (Fig. 8).
- the compressive strength of the mattress changes at the respective point.
- the mattress can be divided into zones, the compressive strength of which corresponds to the physical requirements of the user. Since the design of the zones can also be changed after the production of the mattress, it is possible to adapt the mattress at any time to the changed physiological conditions of the user.
- the cutting lines leading to the internal chambers can run vertically (5) or obliquely (6) (Fig. 3). In the latter case, the friction along the cutting lines that occurs when the mattress is loaded is reduced.
- the chambers can also be filled only partially, that is to say the segment strips can be interrupted, so that the intermediate space remains empty (FIG. 6).
- the filling can also be different. In this way, different segment strips of different materials or strength can be strung together. In this way, the lying behavior of the mattress can also be varied in the transverse direction.
- the body-appropriate variability of previous mattresses was low and not sufficient to be able to raise the therapeutic demands on bed equipment that must be made today in view of increasing back and sleep complaints.
- the patent DE 3412366 AI allows only the relief of certain parts of the body, in particular the coccyx, by cutting out segments on the top of the mattress.
- the patents EP 0465 810 AI, DE 4029947 AI, CH 600838 and EP 0614636 AI only allow various cutouts to create more sensitive zones at different points on the mattress, which help individual body zones to be stored more cheaply. However, this only enables a rough adaptation to the individual requirements of the bed user.
- the patent EP 0445539 A2 is already more precise. Here you go into very specific parts of the body.
- the present invention fulfills all requirements for a mattress, the lying and firmness behavior can be varied at any time.
- the individual segment strips either lie loosely in the chambers or are adhesively connected to the rest of the mattress body. Such adhesion can either be caused by the segments (7) not being completely cut out, so that a small connection of the material remains which is torn off when the strips are removed. Liability can also be caused by gluing.
- the invention provides for variable areas in the manufacture of the mattress to be provided at any point on the mattress. For example, the mattress can be made variable over the entire length (FIG. 1). However, only one or some areas of the mattress can be varied by incorporating the chambers according to the invention only at these points (FIG. 2).
- the invention provides that the transverse chambers incorporated into the mattress are created either by cutting, by casting or by the fact that prefabricated individual parts are brought together.
- Fig. 1 Mattress with transverse chambers that are accessible from the outside through incisions (1).
- the chambers are either hollow (2) or filled with segment strips of any content (3).
- Fig. 2 Mattress with transverse chambers that are located only at individual points on the mattress.
- the chambers have different cross-sectional sizes and are located at different distances from the edge of the mattress.
- Fig. 3 You can see chambers with different cross-sectional shape and size. You can see chambers that adjoin the top or bottom of the mattress (4). One sees chambers inside the mattress, which are accessible from the outside through an incision, the split line running vertically (5) or obliquely (6). You can also see a chamber, the filling of which is firmly connected to the rest of the mattress material ((7). It can also be seen that the cutting line leading to a chamber is either on the side (8) or at another location (9) on the single chamber meets.
- Fig. 4-8 show different chambers in the longitudinal direction.
- the first example shows the chamber filled (Fig.4).
- the second example shows a chamber, the content of which consists of different strip material (Fig. 5).
- the third example shows a chamber that is only filled laterally, but is hollow in the middle (Fig. 6).
- the fourth example shows a chamber, the contents of which differ in several places (FigJ).
- the fifth example shows a chamber that is hollow (Fig. 8).
- Fig. 5 Shows a mattress on which the incorporated, transverse chambers are accessible from the bottom.
