Nach dem Abziehen der Spritze, wobei vorher der Zuführungs- schlauch abgeklemmt worden ist, wird ein Stopfen auf das An¬ schlußstück gesetzt, damit die Blockungsmanschette im aufge¬ blasenen Zustand bleibt. Vor dem Entfernen des Trachealtubus wird der Stopfen, der unverlierbar gehalten ist, gezogen. Wenn der Tubus mit allen zu ihm gehörenden Teile aus hitze¬ stabilen Material hergestellt ist, so kann er dampfsterili¬ siert werden und dadurch wiederverwendet werden. Bei der DampfSterilisation wird im allgemeinen zunächst ein Vakuum angewendet, um restliche Luft aus Hohlräumen zu entfernen, damit der Dampf umso rascher und wirkungsvoller alle Ober¬ flächen des zu sterilisierenden Gegenstands erreicht.
