Abstract

Procédé amélioré de préparation de particules colloïdales sphériques monodispersées à partir de sels de terres rares. On obtient ces particules colloïdales par des techniques de précipitation homogène comprenant l'hydrolyse forcée de sels de terres rares dans des milieux aqueux. Plus spécifiquement, ce procédé consiste initialement à former des cations hydrolysés qui sont les précurseurs ou les produits intermédiaires de précipitation des particules colloïdales désirées. L'objectif visé par la formation de ces espèces de précurseurs est l'obtention d'une concentration de sursaturation critique des espèces formant ces particules, de sorte qu'il ne se produit qu'un éclatement de noyaux. La formation des particules colloïdales est obtenue ensuite par diffusion de solutés dans les noyaux existants. L'amélioration du procédé consiste, en partie, dans la possibilité de commander le mécanisme cinétique de formation desdites espèces intermédiaires. Une telle commande permet de former des dispersions colloïdales ayant une distribution granulométrique très étroite. Les dispersions colloïdales de ces particules sont également très stables. Les particules colloïdales de terres rares préparées par ce procédé sont utiles tant dans l'industrie qu'en biologie.
