MANUFACTURING CORD BUTTONS.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 9,210, dated August 17,1852.
To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, NELSON PERKINS, of Wawarsing, in the county of Ulster and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Method for Preparing Cord or Tape to be Used in the Manufacture of Buttons for Vhips; and I declare that the following is a full and exact description of the mode of manufacturing said cord or tape to be used in the forming of such buttons.
rI`he threads composing said cords or tape may be of cotton, linen, silk or gut. The cords or tape is prepared and formed by running the threads around a cylinder, or stretching them upon pegs in `such a manner that they shall come in close contact side by ide. They are then wet or sized with glue or some other adhesive substance and dried. What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patentis- The preparation of the cords in the process of manufacturing cord buttons by gluing them together substantially in the manner and for the purpose herein set forth.
