To all whom it may concern: I

Be it known that I, EMMETTR. FRANKMN. i a citizen of'the United States, residing at Binghamton, in the county of Broome and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VJire Baskets, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in wire baskets and particularly to that class of baskets which are used in markets for carrying and deiivery baskets.

It consists in certain peculiarities of construction and novel arrangement of parts thereof, as will be hereinafter set forth and specifically claimed.

The object of my invention is to provide such a basket as, while being constructed of wire, or otherwise, will have within it a rel movable lining so that no matter how large the mesh in the wire weave may be, it will hold the smallest article, and yet have the full strength and durability of a wire metallic rece tacle. I attain these objects by the nice anism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, inwhich Figure 1' is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof. In the bottom, I insert the bottom lining strip I in the same manner and in the ends, the end lining strips, J and J respectively inserting them in the same manner. In this way I have a firm strong basket having all the strength as well as lightness of a wire basket and at the same time capable of holding the smallest article and of being renovated and renewed by the insertion of fresh new lining at any time.

It is obvious that I may use either a square form of basket or a circular form of basket if so desired and that my invention is applicable to other baskets than those composed of wire.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows:

1. The combination of a basket having across the inner surfaces of its sides, ends and bottom cross wires stretched and beneath which cross wires areinserted flexible strips resting against the inner surface of the sides, ends and bottom, forming in this position removable linings to the interior of the basket.

2. The combination of a basket having handle openings and having across the inner surfaces of its sides, ends and bottom, cross wires stretched; strips of flexible material inserted between the cross wires and against the inner surfaces of the sides, ends and bottom, the strips having 0 enings formed in them to correspond with tiie handle openings in the sides of the basket.

3.
