To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANors E FAULIG NEE, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Card-Tables, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to card tables in general and more specifically consists of a novel form and arrangement of table designed for use in playing the game of poker. Special tables are now made for use in playing this game, but they are arranged for a fixed number of players and their use by a party composed of a different number produces general discomfort. Thus, a table arranged for a six handed game cannot be conveniently used by five players or seven. My invention overcomes this difiiculty and produces a table which can be instantly ad justed for convenient use by any number of players who can sit around it, and has other advantages.

The best form of apparatus embodying my invention at present known to me is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which,

In the drawings, 1 is the main top of the table having the supporting base 2, preferably composed of three legs or feet to give as much room as possible for the feet of the players, and removable cover or false top 3. Underneath the false top 3, is thecircular portion 4, usually covered with green baize for use in card playing. Around this is thedepressed portion 5, with an outer wall or rim 6 forming an annular trough- The outer rim 6 is made of reasonable width, as'shown, to form a rest for the arms or elbows of the players, and its outer edge is curved or beveled. The trough 5 has been heretofore divided by a series of rigid partitions into a fixed number of bins, one of "which is opposite each player andin which he may keep his chips. In my inventionthese partitions are made movable and each consists of a block 7, with curved ends and straight sides converging so as to coincide with radii of the top circle, and raised side strips 8, 8. Preferably, the block 7 has a piece of green baize or-similar material 9, fastened on its under side to prevent rattling and scratching of the wood when the block is moved. The block 7 is preferably made Wide enough so that any convenient ash receiver 10, a box of matches 11, or other small articles which the player needs near him, may be placed on top of the block between the side strips or ledges 8, 8.

To use the table as a poker table, the false 3 is removed and as many partition blocks 7 are selected as there are players. In Fig. 1, six are shown. These are arranged evenly, as shown, so that each player has his bin for chips in front of him and an ash receiver and box of matches, with per-- haps a few cigars on top of the partition block at one side of his bin. If one player gives up his hand, one partition block is taken out .and the remaining five evenly spaced. 'If more players come into the game, the necessary blocks are added and 'roperl placed. To clean the bins, allthe blocks may be removed, or all but one, the section 12 removed, and the ashes, etc. swept around and down the opening thus Of course different arrangements of partition blocks, or partition pieces may be used so long as they are movable so as to make the table adjustable for any number of players.

Having, therefore, described my invention, I claim: 1'. The combination of a circular table having a circumferentially disposed depressed pressed portion, and a series of movable partition pieces therein to form a series of bins, each of said partition ieces being provided with a layer of sound deadening material on its under side.
