TOBACCO-LATE HOLDER.
Application filed May 25, 1908.
To all whom "it may concern:
Be it known that I, ELMER MILTON WAL- DnEF, a citizen of the United States, residing at Leeds, in the county of Columbia and. invented a new and useful Tobacco-Lath Holder, of which the 'l'ollowing is a specification.
My invention relatesto a device for holding a tobacco lath when stripping leaves lfrom the stocks and when removing the stocks from the lath; and the object of my invention is to provide a device to hold tobacco lath so that the tobacco stocks can be removed from the lath as soon as the tobacco leaves are stripped from the stoclzs which obviates the rehandling ol the lath to remove the stocks from them. I attain this object by the mechanism illustrated in the accompany ing drawing, in which Figure 1 is a vertical section of the entire l device. Fig. 2 is a sectional view.

When the stripper pulls the stocks forward in the act of removing them from the lath, the holder a, assumes position 01 and produces a friction at e and f, thus preventing the lath from slipping from the holder a, while the stocks are being removed. After the stocks are removed from the lath the holder goes back to original position. The lath is removed from the holder by raising the lath at point 9 and then pulling towards stripper.
I claim:
A tobacco lath holder comprising a body having an enlarged opening therein to receive the end of a lath, and means for loosely supporting the holder, substantially as described.
