To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LoUIs PERoT'rI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Liquid-Distributers, of which the following is a specification.
The resent invention relates to improvements 1n liquid-distributers, articularl to medicine-distributers of the 'nd described in my previous patent, No. 788,118, of April 25, 1905. 7
My invention has for its object to provide for a bottle a pliance' which will permit the discharge of a iquid or medicine in prescribed quantit1esa teaspoonful or table-spoonful so as to prevent an bverdosing of the medicine and the s illing thereof on the floor or the clothes of t e person taking the medicine. Another object of this invention is to avoid the necessity of usingspoons for taking the medicine. f
My present improvement difiers from tha shown in my former patent in that the valve arrangement in the glass bulb'is dis ensed with, whereby the apparatus is great y simplified in its construction and rendered less expensive; l
A further improvement of the present invention consists in the arrangement of the f connection-body between the glass bulb and the neck of the bottle.
In order to make my invention more clear, the same is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which similar reference-letters denote corresponding parts, and in which- Figure 1 is a vertlcal section through the a paratus and a part of the neck of the bot t e, the apparatus and the bottle being shown in a reversed Iplosition. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through no m x of Fi 1, showin the connectioniece between t e bulb an the bottle close and Fig. 3 is the same section showing the connection-piece open.
With reference to the drawings, (1 denotes thebottle, 1) its neck, and c a body of elastic material, referably rubber, havin two hol-' low ends e, which are se arated 0m each other by a solid part f. he latter, which taken in by tilting t the nozzle to the mouth.v The outer surface has an elliptical cross-section, (see Fig. 2,) is provided with a straight out g, extendin through the longer axis of the ellipsis an throughout the entire height of said solid art. By the exertion of a lateral pressure upon the solid art f at both ends of the longer axis of the e li tical cross-section the said body will adopt t e sha e shown in Fig. 3', whereby the cut 9 will wi en, and thus establish acommunication between the two hollow ends d e of the body 0. One of the ends of said body is ada ted to be slid over the outer flan e of the neck of the bottle and the other'enf thereof over a flan e formed on the hollow neck 1', of a hollow g ass bulb h, which serves as the liquid measurer or distributer proper. This glass bulb is at a point adjacent to the neck i thereof provided with a nozzle 3'. When the bottle, with the liquid-distributer applied thereto, is reversed, the nozzle will extend in h an inclined position upward, as shown in Fig. 1.
