To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, CHARLES R. CLARE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Homestead, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Printing-Press Attachments, of which improvement the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in printing-presses, and has for its object the provision of means for crimping the sheet im mediately after the printing operation and continuously therewith Without the employment or use of an inde endent crimping-machine; and to accomplish this object my invention consists of the novel construction and arrangement of' parts hereinafter more specifically described, reference being had to t e accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which 7 Figure 1 is a diagrammatic view of a portion of printing press with my improved crimping device attached thereto. a 1flace view or front elevation of crim ingro s. creasing-roll, showing the inanner of securing the two sections thereoftogether. Referring to said drawings, 1 isthe feedtable as the same is usually applied upon the usual printing-press and on which the mate rial 2 to be printed and crimped is supported. which are mounted upon the rods or shafts 7 8 immediately in the front of the cylinder. The

Some of the advantages secured in the use of my device are that time is economized and the printing and creasing operations are continuous and an expensive creasing-machine is dispensed with. It is obvious that my device may be appliedto a ruling-machine.
I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent- I. In a printing and crimping machine, the combination with a printing-drum, and a fly, of a crimping device interposed between the fly and drum adapted to crimp the material previously acted upon by the drum as it passes from the drum to the fly.
2. In a printing and crimping machine, the combination with a printing-drum, of a crim ing device adjacent thereto adapted to rectl receive the material as it passes from the d i'um.
3. In a printing and crimping machine, the combination with a printing-drum, of a crimping device arranged adjacent thereto adapted to directly receive the material as it passes from the drum, and means for conveying 4. In a printlng and crimping machine, the
