UMBRELLA OR WALKING STICK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 559,043, dated April 28, 1896. Application filed November 1, 1895. Serial No. 567,670. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LEOPOLD SANDBERG, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Berlin, in the Empire of Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in the Manufacture of Umbrella or Walking Sticks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in the manufacture of umbrella and Walkin g sticks. W
The object of the present invention is to manufacture a light and thin Walkin g or umbrella stick which possesses great strength.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a cross-section, and Fig. 2 a side View with broken parts, of a cylindrical Walking or umbrella stick; Fig. 3, a cross-section, and Fig. 4 a side View, of a conical walking or umbrella stick.
The new umbrella or Walking stick consists of a thin cylindrical or conical steel tube a, on which is cemented a strip 5 of Webbing. Around the latter is laid a strip 0 of veneer and glued thereon. The strip ofwebbing 1) enables the veneer c to be thoroughly secured to the steel tube a.
What I claim is The Walking or umbrella stick consisting of a steel tube a, having a strip 6, of Webbing cemented thereon, and a strip 0 of Wood Veneer cemented on said Webbing, substantially as set forth.
