Another object of the invention is to obtain a saliva ejector combined with a mouth mirror which has the possibility of lateral adjustmentability. I
According to the invention, a saliva ejector has a suction pipe, one end of which co-operates with a source of power, the other end of which has a wing like member detachably arranged, said wing like member consists of a perforated body which is slipped onto said end of said suction pipe and rotatably arranged and supporting the wing or forming an integrated part therewith.
The invention will now be described below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which FIG. 1 shows the pipe of the saliva ejector with the tongue protection mounted thereon, and
FIG. 2 is a view similar to the one in FIG. 1 illustrating the suction pipe and the tongue protection separated apart.
According to the invention the saliva ejector as is evident from FIG. 1 comprises a suction pipe 1 and slipped on the same in rotatable mounting a perforated body 2 supporting a tongue of forming an integral part therewith in known manner in the shape of a wing 3.
The tongue protection 3 can be of reflecting material or coated with such material, so that the wing 3 also serves the purpose of a mouth mirror, which is rotatable and to a certain extent displaceable along the pipe 1. The tube 1, as is evident from FIG. 2, exhibits a chamfered end 5 in order to prevent the body 2 slipped on the tube from obstructing the suction. The body 2 is suitably of some length in order to increase its Contact surface and consequently its friction against the tube 1, and is provided with a number of long slits 4, preferably of the saliva ejector are made of plastics, the wing being overlaid with a reflecting material. Owing to the flexible plastic pipe the body can be placed in the desired position in the mouth, by way of example at right angle to the base of the oral cavity or resting on the same, a rotation of the body 2 on the tube 1 positioning the wing 3 in the desired angular position relative to the point of treatment in the mouth, thereby protecting soft parts of the mouth as the tongue, check etc. as well as serving as a mouth-mirror, the wing then reflecting the light to the part of the oral cavity being treated.
Other embodiments than the above mentioned one can of course be possible. Thus it is conceivable that the body is not connected with the wing 3, the latter one instead being interchangeable on the body. Likewise several bodies may be arranged for a suction pipe, the bodies then being provided with differently shaped wings 3 of different size in order to be adapted to different cases of treatment. One end of the suction pipe is connected to a source of power in known manner.
I claim:
1. Saliva ejector preferably for non-recurring use comprising a suction pipe, one end of which cooperates with a source of power, the other end of which has a chamferred end and a wing shaped member detachably arranged thereon, said wing shaped member consisting of a perforated body which is slipped onto said chamferred end of said suction pipe and rotatably arranged thereon, and said perforated body supporting the wing or forming an integral part thereof, said wing shaped member extending over at least a portion of said suction pipe when attached thereto and being made of or coated with a reflecting material, and adapted to serve as a tongue protection and an adjustable mouth mirror.

Claims (1)
