v INVENTOR. DEWEY B. CARMOOV BANDAGE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION My invention is directed toward self securing bandages adapted to be worn in exposed position which display colors matched to the skin color of the wearer whereby the bandage is much less conspicuous. To this end, I employ a transparent strip having opposite ends of one surface coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive and an absorbent pad disposed between the ends. A second strip of suitable color to match the skin of the user and thus, for example, colored white, black, yellow or bronze is disposed between the transparent strip and the pad. When the resultant bandage is applied with the pad in contact with a cut or the like and the adhesive contacting the skin to hold the strips and pad in position, the color of the second strip determines the color of the bandage for the purposes indicated.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:
FIG. 1 shows my invention in use;
FIG. 2 shows my bandage in top view;
FIG. 3 shows my invention in bottom view; and FIG. 4 shows my invention in exploded view.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. 1-4, an elongated transparent flexible thin plastic strip 10 has an outer surface and an inner surface. The opposite ends of the inner surface have a pressure sensitive adhesive coating 12. Disposed between these coated ends and secured to the inner surface is a second flexible thin plastic strip 14 which is colored as desired, as for example, black, yellow, white or bronze. An absorbent pad 16 overlies and is secured to the surface of strip 14 remote from strip 10. Removable and disposable thin overlapping backing strips 18 are secured to the coatings 12. The bandage can then be used as previously indicated.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is claimed as new is:
1. A bandage comprising a transparent flexible thin first strip; a second thin flexible colored strip secured to one surface of the first strip adjacent the ends of the second strip; and an absorbent pad secured to the surface of the second strip remote from the first strip.
2. A bandage as set forth in claim 1 wherein the ends of the strip on said one surface are coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive.
3. A bandage as set forth in claim 2 further including overlapping detachable backing strips secured to said adhesive.

Claims (3)
