' PATENIEU raazamn INVENTOR. FREDERICK L. JERRY BANDAGE The prime object is to devise a first aid bandage having its own supply of fresh medication to apply to the gauze pad and the wound then and thereon with all of its medical potencies, unlike the old way of dried medication on the bandage, which loses its potencies after a short period of time after release to the public. Another object of the invention is to devise a bandage with a medication container having an adhesive sealing band made from adhesive tape which seals in the medication, and to provide easy means of opening the medication container. Still another object of the invention is to devise a bandage with its medication container aboverthe gauze pad, so as not to interfere with the distribution of the medication, or interfere with the healing of the would, by interfering with the healing oxygen found in the air.
I attain this object and others that might be pointed out by the illustration in the accompanying drawing, in which:
FIG. 1 is an elevation view of my invention;
FIG. 2 is a plan view of my invention;
FIG. 3 is a plan view of the old bandage without my invention and new improvements;
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of my invention showing the tab and the adhesive band provided thereon the undersurface;
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of my invention without the tab and adhesive band, showing the opening left after the tab and band has been pulled; and
FIG. 6 is a side view of my invention.
The invention and improved bandage l is constructed of two adhesive strips having a plastic medication container 4 (refer to the drawings) connected between the said two adhesive strips, of which the right strip connects to the right side of the plastic medication container 4, and the other strip connects to the right side of the plastic medication container 4,
and the other strip connects to the left side of the medication container. The gauze pad 3 is connected between the two adhesive strips below the said plastic medication container 4. Container 4 is provided with an adhesive band 5 that is provided witha tab 6 and is the means of sealing the medication plastic container, when it, the said adhesive band 5 is adhered over the opening 7 provided in the plastic medication container 4. Therefore it will be seen that when the bandage is applied over the wound and the adhesive band 5 is pulled away by the tab 6 from over the opening 7 provided in the plastic medication container lengthwise, medication will flow out onto and through the gauze pad 3 on to the wound.
I claim:
1. In a device of the class described a bandage constructed I from adhesive strips having a gauze pad adhered thereon, the
improved bandage being constructed of two adhesive strips having a plastic medication container connected between the said two adhesive strips of which the right strip connects to the right side of the plastic medication container, and the other strip connects to the left side of the said plastic medication container; a g'auze pad is connected between the two adhesive strips below the said plastic medication container; the plastic medication container is provided with an opening lengthwise in its undersurface; an adhesive band seals the opening in the said plastic medication container, and is provided with a tab as means of pulling the said adhesive band away from the opening provided in the plastic medication container whereby a when the bandage is applied over the wound and the adhesive band is pulled away from over the opening provided in the plastic container, medication will flow out onto and through the said gauze pad onto the wound.
