SIDECIFI-JATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 313,319, dated March 3, 1885.
Application filed June 28, 1884, (No model.)
To all whom, it vai/ay concern,
Be it known that I, RODNEY \V. GODDARD, of Vellston, county ot`- Jackson, Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Fowl-Coop, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved fowl-coop which is so coustructed that it can be adjusted to form compartments of different sizes.
The invention consists in the peculiar construction and arrangement of parts, asheren after fully described, and pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drauf'ings, forming part of this specitication, in which similar letters ot' reference indicate corresponding parts in both gures.
Figure l is a longitudinal elevation ot' my improved fowl-coop, parts being` broken ont, and Fig. 2 is a crosssectional elevation ofthe same.
The coop A is made of slats, and is provided with legs B. A transverse partition,O, is provided at each lower corner with a forked clip, D, in which a ilanged wheel, E, is pivoted. A bar, F, projects from the middle of the partition O, and extends through an aperture in one end ot" the coop. The bar F is provided with an otisct shoulder or stop, G, a distance from the partition O about equal to the length ofthe coop. The coop is provided with a door, H, at each end. At each side of the floor of the coop trackstrips J are arranged,on which wheelsErun. At'eed trough, K, is arranged at each side ofthe tloor outside ofthe coop. The partition C divides the coop same size.
tion can easily be moved to any desired part of the coop, according to the sizes of the compartments desired in the coop. Different kinds ot' fowls can be kept in the two compartments, or fowls ct' different sizes can be kept in the two compartments.
It fowls are to bc caught, they are forced to one end of the coop by moving the partition toward the corresponding end ot' the coop, the corresponding door H of the coop A being opened.
The fowls can be fed very easily by means ofthe trough. As the bar F projects through the end ofthe coop,it holds the partition in a vertical position. The bar F also serves as a roost for fowls.
I am aware that a coop provided with a movable partition sliding on guides and operated by a bar at the top of the coop is old, and I therefore do not claim such invention.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. The combination, with a i'o\vlcoop, of a l movable partition and a rod rigidly attached RODNEY XV. GODDARD.
