1 Claim.

This invention relates to a combined birdbath and feeding table.

One object of the invention is to provide a structure which comprises a feeding tray and a bath receptacle which are in nested relation whereby the bath receptacle is held in position by the feeding tray.

Another object of the invention is to provide a stable support for the tray and bath receptacle, comprising a framework which is foldable into compact relation for storage or shipment purposes.

Another object of the invention is to provide a structure in which the tray and bath receptacle are easily removable from the support and from each other for convenient cleaning.

Another object of the invention is to provide a structure in which the bottom of the bath receptacle projects into a depression in the top of the supporting means and is thereby additionally held in position.

With the above and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts described in the following specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the whole structure on the plane indicated by line l-i of Fig. 2.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the supporting structure with the feeding tray and bath receptacle removed.

Fig. 3 is a bottom plan view of the supporting structure alone.

Fig. 4 is a bottom plan view of the supporting structure alone as it will appear when folded.

The supporting structure comprises a pair of arms I and 2 connected for relative movement about a pivot 3. By reason of this connection, the arms may be moved from the operative relation shown in Fig. 3 to the inoperative folded position shown in Fig. 4 when it is desired to store or ship the device. The pivotal connection may be of any kind which will allow this movement.

Depending from the ends of the arms are legs 5 to support the device at the desired height above the ground. As shown, the legs 5 and the arms i and 2 to which they are connected may be made of separate parts for convenience of manufacture, storage and shipment. Upstanding abutments 6 are provided at the ends of the arms. The feeding tray is nested between these abutments and they hold it from lateral displacement while it is supported on the upper surfaces of the arms I and 2. The tray 7 may be circular or rectangular or of any other configuration that may be desired. It has an upstanding flange 8 at its outer periphery to hold the food within the confines of the tray and to 0perate in conjunction with the abutments 6 to hold the tray against lateral displacement.

The tray has an opening 9 and, the arms 1 and 2, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, have a depression l0 below said opening. The bath receptacle H is adapted to be nested in the opening 9 and depression as shown in Fig. 1. As will be seen from Fig. 1, the edge of the aperture 9 embraces the outer wall of the receptacle H. It will also be evident that the side wall and bottom of the depression [0 engage the outer wall and bottom of the receptacle II. By this arrangement the receptacle is firmly held against tilting or lateral movement.

The arrangement shown will prevent movement of either the bath receptacle or the food tray by the wind or by the weight of the birds standing thereon. Nevertheless, the arrangement allows easy removal of the receptacle and tray for cleansing or for replenishment of their contents.

While I have illustrated and described one embodiment of my invention, I do not wish to limit myself to the precise details of structure shown, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as may come within the scope of the appended claim.

I claim:

A combined bird bath and feeding table, comprising a support having upstanding abutments located around its periphery, a food tray resting on said support having an upstanding peripheral flange to hold food on the tray, said flange being positioned between and in engagement with said abutments to prevent lateral displacement of the tray relative to the support but to allow the tray to be lifted from the support, said tray having also a central opening in its bottom and said support having a depression registering with said opening, a separate bath receptacle having an unobstructed open top and a side wall fitting within the central opening in said tray and a closed bottom portion engageable with side walls of the depression in the support and resting on the bottom of said depression, whereby the bath receptacle is held against either lateral or tilting movement relative to either the tray or the support but may be lifted from said tray and said support.
