Figs. 17 land 18 illustrate one alternative method of mounting the' mirror I3 so that it will be slidable in a xed plane with respect to Window I2. Figs. 19 and 20 illustrate another mounting -arrangement for slidable mirror I3 involving-the use of a casing 24 having a pair of diametrically opposed guidinggrooves 25. Casing 40. is l further provided with a compartment 42 opening at the opposite end for retaining a lipstick brush 43. A preferably rectangular mirror 44:.is freely disposed within the casing 40 and carries atione end thereof a small magnet 45 mounted in anysuitable manner. In combination with a lipstick holder, a casing having one openend for the` reception of said lipstick holder, said casing having a portion thereof cut away adjacent its open end to provide a viewing window, a slidable element disposed within said casing, said slidable element including a tubular element closed at its outer end, a spring interposed between the closed end of said casing and the closed end of said tubular element for normally urging said element toward the openr ing in accordance with claim 2, said casing having' a longitudinal guiding groove formed therein, and a key element fixed to said tubular element and slidable within said guiding groove.

In combination with a lipstick holder, a casing in accordance with claim 3, said casing having a longitudinal guiding groove formed therein, said slidable element having an inner wall provided with an aperture for thepassage of said spring within said tubular element, said inner wall having a depending projection slidable within said guiding groove for maintaining said mirror in a xed plane with respect to said viewing window.

In combination with a lipstick holder, a casing in accordance with claim 2, said casing having a pair of diametrically opposed guiding grooves formed therein, said slidable element having an inner wall provided with an aperture for the passage of said spring within said tubular element, said inner wall having a pair of diametrically opposed lateral projections slidable within said pair of guiding grooves maintaining said' mirror in a fixed plane with respect to said viewing Window.

In combination with a lipstick holder, a casing having one open end for the reception of said lipstick holder, said ycasing having a portion thereof cut away adjacent its open end to provide a viewing window, a slidableelement disposed within said casing, a mirrorv on said element, means for causing the mirror to follow the movement of the lipstick holder out of and to precede the lipstick holder into said casing, whereby to expose said mirror to view through said viewing window upon removal of said lipstick holder and to conceal said mirror within the interior of said casing upon introducing said lipstick holder within said casing.
