The element 4 is shown detachably clamped shown more rigidly secured to the body but it l may be bolted in position thereon in a similar manner, if preferred, or it may be a solid part thereof.

A recess 'la is sunk into the back of the comb to receive the vibrating element I3 of a device I2 including any conventionally well known vibrator electric motor or magnetic device, the cords from which extend through the handle portion 2 of the support, as indicated at I4.

In order to facilitate mounting of the comb in the support and removal therefrom, I have shown the attaching member 29 clamped in position at the end of the support by means of a screw 30 and it is noticed that the roller 21 is mounted in this member. When so constructed, it is merely required to withdraw the screw 30 and to remove the comb and to replace it with any desired combing or massaging element.

In some cases and particularly where used for massaging purposes, it may be found desirable to mount a plurality of combs or massaging elements within the support and this may readily be accomplished substantially as indicated in Fig. 6.

In the drawing, two combing or massaging elements 32, 33 are Shown mounted Within the support 34 and they are connected for reciprocations from the rod 20 by means of a double pronged vibrating element 35. In all other respects the device may remain as just described and the motor may be suitably mounted within the handle 36. 1

It was above stated that the attaching element 29 is clamped in position on the support by means of the screw 30. It should be added that it is necessary to provide means for maintaining this element in properly aligned position on the support and this may be accomplished by recessng the end of the support as indicated at 38 and providing the body with a tongue which is shaped to t into this recess and thereby to prevent sidewise swinging movement of the element.

I claim:

1. In a vibratory device, a comb having a recess sunk into the back thereof, a support for said comb having a handle extending from the end thereof, means for mounting said comb on said support for reciprocatory movement relative thereto, and a mechanism including an electric motor seated in said support, said mechanism having an element extending into said recess for imparting reciprocations to the comb.

2. In a vibratory device, a support having a handle extending therefrom, attachment elements projecting from one edge of said support, a comb held suspended between said elements and having a recess sunk into the back thereof adjacent the support, and a mechanism including an electric motor seated in the support, said mechanism having an element projecting into said recess for imparting reciprocations to the comb.

3. In a vibratory device, a support having a handle extending therefrom, attachment elements projecting from one edge of said support, a comb detachably held suspended between said elements and having a recess sunk into the back thereof adjacent the support, and a mechanism including an electric motor seated in the support, said mechanism having an element projecting into said recess for imparting reciprocations to the comb.

4. In a vibratori7 device, a comb recessed at its ends and having a recess sunk into the back thereof, a support having a handle extending from the end thereof and elements seated in the end recesses of the comb, and a mechanism including an electric motor seated in the support, said mechanism having an element extending into the recess of the back of the comb for mparting reciprocatory movement thereto.

5. In a vibratory device, a comb recessed at its ends and having a recess sunk into the back thereof, a support having a handle extending from the end thereof and anti-friction rollers seated in the end recesses of the comb, and a mechanism including an electric motor seated in the support, said mechanism having an element' extending into the recess of the back of the comb for imparting reciprocatory movement thereto.

6. In a vibratory device, a support, attachment elements projecting from one edge of said support, a plurality of combs held suspended between said elements, each comb having a recess sunk into the back thereof adjacent the edge of the support, a vibratory mechanism seated in said support, and means extending from said mechanism into the said recesses for imparting reciprocatory movement to the combs.

'7. In a vibratory device, a support, attachment elements projecting from one edge of said support, anti-friction rollers in said elements, a plurality of combs, having grooves in the ends thereof riding on the rollers of said elements, each comb having a recess sunk into the back thereof adjacent the edge of the support, a vibratory mechanism seated in said support, and means extending from said mechanism into the said recesses for imparting reciprocatory movement to the combs.

8. In a vibratory device, a support having separable attachment elements projecting from one edge thereof, guide pins projecting from said elements, a comb Vhaving recesses in the ends thereof riding on said pins, and amechanism in the support for imparting reciprocatory movement to the comb.
