BOUQUET-HOLDER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 237,841, dated February 15, 1881. Application filed December 16, 1880. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CARL ERHARD, Sr., of Schwabisch-Gemiind, Germany, have invented a new and useful Improvementin Bouquet- Holders, of whichthe following is a specification.

The object of my invention is to construct a convenient and ornamental bouquet-holder, which can not only be readily carried in the hand but can also be arranged to stand upright on a table or other support. This object I attain in the manner which I will now proceed to describe, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a view of the holder containing a bouquet, and adapted to be carried in the hand; Fig. 2, an enlarged View of the holder in the same position ready for the reception of a bouquet; and Fig. 3, a similar view of the holder, showing it as standing upright on a table or other support.

The body of theholder consists of an ornamental tube, A, for the reception of the usual handle, to which theflowers composing the bouquet are attached, the upper part of the tube being preferably provided with spreading metal leaves or other ornaments, as indicated in the drawings. To the upper end of the tube are pivoted three or more legs, B B, which can be folded up into longitudinal grooves or slots in the tube, so that the holder,with its bouquet, can be readily carried in the hand, or the legs can be spread out to serve as supports, as

shown in Fig. 3, so that the holder may be placed upright on the table.

The upper edge of the holder may be provided with springs, to act on the projecting ends of the pivoted legs to tend to keep them closed against the tube.

I claim as my invention- A bouquet-holder consisting of a tube to whichare pivoted three or more legs, substantially as described, so that the said legs may be folded up close against the tube or spread out to serve as supports.
