Description
- The subject matter disclosed generally relates to gloves. More particularly, the subject matter relates to gloves for performing various purposes and tasks.
- Medical gloves are disposable gloves used during medical examinations and procedures that help prevent contamination between caregivers and patients. Medical gloves are made of different polymers including latex, nitril rubber, vinyl, neoprene and the like. Medical gloves might come powdered or unpowdered with cornstarch to lubricate the gloves and make them easier to put on the hands. There are two main types of gloves: exam and surgical. Surgical gloves have more precise sizing with a better precision and sensitivity and are made to a higher standard.
- On the other hand and often used in combination with medical gloves, gauze is used for many different things, including gauze sponges for medical purposes. When used as a medical dressing, gauze is generally made of cotton. Gauze is especially useful for dressing wounds where other fabrics might stick to the burn or laceration. Many modern medical types of gauze are covered with a plastic porous film such as Telfa or a polyblend which prevents direct contact and further minimizes wound adhesion. Also, gauze can be impregnated with a thick, creamy mixture of zinc and calamine for instance to promote healing.
- Workers, technicians, and professionals such as surgeon, doctors, dentists, nurses and other, sometimes need to treat a lot of patient in one single day. There is therefore a need to provide a glove which directly integrates moisture absorbent layer (i.e.: gauze like membrane) for facilitating different medical purposes.
- Additionally, absorbent sheet products have become very popular for personal care applications for both adult and babies and for general cleaning purposes. Examples include face or body cleaning wipes, wipes for skin treatment, skin conditioning wipes and cleaning wipes. These wipes or pads are nowadays commonly used to apply skin care compositions or make-up to the skin as well as for the removal of, for example, feces, urine or make-up. Other examples include cleaning or detergent wipes comprising Windex™ like product or Swiffer™ like product.
- In skin caring or cleansing operations active ingredients are usually not directly applied to the skin but with the use of pads or wipes to insure a more regular distribution. Also, the fingers are kept free of any oily lotions.
- There is therefore a need to provide a glove which directly integrates moisture absorbent layer (i.e. absorbent sheet products) for facilitating different personal care applications for both adult and babies and for performing general cleaning purposes.
- According to one aspect, there is provided a glove for performing a specific purpose comprising a top glove portion and a bottom glove portion opposite to the top glove portion, at least one of the top glove portion or the bottom glove portion being made of an impermeable material; and a moisture absorbent layer covering the at least one impermeable top glove portion or bottom glove portion for allowing a user of the glove to perform the specific purpose.
- According to another aspect, there is provided a glove comprising:
-
- a top glove portion and a bottom glove portion opposite to the top glove portion, at least one of the top glove portion and the bottom glove portion comprising an impermeable material; and

- According to another aspect, there is provided a glove kit for a medical glove, the kit comprises:
-
- a medical glove having a top glove portion and a bottom glove portion opposite to the top glove portion, at least one of the top glove portion and the bottom glove portion comprises an impermeable material;
- a moisture absorbent layer covering the at least one of the impermeable top glove portion and the bottom glove portion glove portion of the glove that comprises the impermeable material; and
- an hermetic bag for receiving the glove and maintaining the glove under sterile conditions.
- According to another aspect, there is provided a glove kit for a multi purposes glove:
-
- a multi purposes glove having a top glove portion and a bottom glove portion opposite to the top glove portion, at least one of the top glove portion and the bottom glove portion comprises an impermeable material;
- a moisture absorbent layer covering the at least one of the impermeable top glove portion or the bottom glove portion glove portion of the glove that comprises the impermeable material; and
- an hermetic bag for receiving the glove.
- According to another aspect, there is provided a kit comprising a glove having a top glove portion and a bottom glove portion opposite to the top glove portion, at least one of the top glove portion or the bottom glove portion being made of an impermeable material; a moisture absorbent layer covering the at least one of the impermeable top glove portion or the bottom glove portion glove portion of the glove for allowing a user of the glove to perform the specific purpose; and an hermetic bag for receiving the glove.
- The term “glove” as used herein refers to a garment partially or totally covering a hand and include, without limitations, mittens and other types of garments.
