Abstract
A chair with waist rest and armrests comprises a connecting element, a seat assembly, a chair back, a waist rest assembly, two armrest assemblies, a height adjusting apparatus and a leg assembly. The chair can be produced by a small number of simple components to include waist rest assembly and armrest assemblies, thus reducing the cost in production and assembly
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a combined chair, and more particularly to a chair with waist rest and armrests.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- The existing chairs (for example office chairs) are normally provided with a seat, a chair back and a leg assembly. The seat is disposed on the leg assembly, and the chair back is connected to the seat. In addition, to satisfy requirements of users of different heights, between the seat and the leg assembly is disposed a height adjusting device. Furthermore, to enhance the seating comfort, the chairs are provided with armrest assemblies for supporting arms and a waist rest assembly for supporting waist.
- However, when the chair only includes the seat, the chair back and the leg assembly, the components of the chair and the corresponding assembly are relatively easy, but once the chair is further provided with the armrest assemblies and the waist rest assembly, the components of the chair are complicated and the assembly cost is greatly increased.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a chair with waist rest and armrests which can reduce the cost in production and assembly since it only comprises a small number of simple components.
- Hence, to achieve the above objective, a chair with waist rest and armrests in accordance with the present invention comprises a connecting element, a seat assembly, a chair back, a waist rest assembly, two armrest assemblies, a height adjusting apparatus, and a leg assembly. The connecting element includes a main body, two tube portions disposed at both sides of the main body, and two cylinder portions which are disposed at both sides of the main body between the two tube elements. The seat assembly includes a cushion body disposed on an upper end surface of the main body of the connecting element, and a loading plate which is disposed on a lower end surface of the main body of the connecting element and locked to the cushion body. The chair back includes a back rest plate, and two tube elements which are connected to the back rest plate and engaged on the two cylinder portions of the connecting element. The waist rest assembly includes a support element and a waist rest assembly plate, the support element is locked between the two tube elements of the chair back and includes two locking portions to be used to lock the tube elements and the cylinder portions, and a middle portion between the two locking portions. The waist rest assembly plate is disposed on the middle portion. The two armrest assemblies are inserted into the respective tube portions of the connecting element. The height adjusting apparatus includes an outer tube, and an inner tube which is connected to the loading plate and inserted in the outer tube in a liftable manner. The leg assembly is connected to the outer tube of the height adjusting apparatus.
- Preferably, the cushion body includes a seat plate which is disposed on the upper end surface of the main body and locked to the loading plate, and a soft cushion engaged on the seat plate.
- Preferably, the loading plate, the main body and the seat plate are locked together through screws.
- Preferably, the locking portions of the support element, the tube elements of the chair back and the cylinder portions of the connecting element are locked together through screws.
- Preferably, a curved elastic portion is connected between the respective two locking portions and the middle portion of the support element of the waist rest assembly.
- Preferably, the middle portion of the support element of the waist rest assembly includes hollow cylinders, and the waist rest assembly plate of the waist rest assembly includes protruding cylinders to be inserted into the hollow cylinders of the support element.
- Preferably, the loading plate of the seat assembly includes an insertion portion for insertion of a top end of the inner tube of the height adjusting apparatus.

FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the present invention, showing that part of the connecting element, part of the chair back and the waist rest assembly are combined; -
FIG. 7 is an exploded view of the present invention, showing the armrest assemblies, the height adjusting apparatus are separated; and -
FIG. 8 is a cross sectional-view of the present invention, showing the height adjusting apparatus and the seat assembly are combined. - The present invention will be clearer from the following description when viewed together with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1-8 , a chair with waist rest and armrests in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a connectingelement 10, aseat assembly 20, achair back 30, awaist rest assembly 40, twoarmrest assemblies 50, aheight adjusting apparatus 60 and aleg assembly 70. - The connecting
element 10 includes amain body 11, twotube portions 12 disposed at both sides of themain body 11, and twocylinder portions 13 which are disposed at both sides of themain body 11 between the twotube portions 12. - The
seat assembly 20 includes acushion body 21 disposed on an upper end surface of themain body 11 of the connectingelement 10, and aloading plate 22 which is disposed on a lower end surface of themain body 11 and locked to thecushion body 21. Theloading plate 22 includes aninsertion portion 221. Thecushion body 21 includes aseat plate 211 which is disposed on the upper end surface of themain body 11 and locked to theloading plate 22, and asoft cushion 212 disposed on theseat plate 211. Theloading plate 22, themain body 11 and theseat plate 211 are locked throughscrews 81. Theseat assembly 20 is combined as shown inFIG. 4 . - The
chair back 30 includes aback rest plate 31, and twotube elements 32 which are connected to theback rest plate 31 and engaged on the twocylinder portions 13 of the connectingelement 10. - The
waist rest assembly 40 includes asupport element 41 and a waistrest assembly plate 42. Thesupport element 41 is locked between the twotube elements 32 of the chair back 30 and includes twolocking portions 411 to be used to lock thetube elements 32 and thecylinder portions 13 through twoscrews 82, and amiddle portion 412 between the twolocking portions 411. Between the respective twolocking portions 411 and themiddle portion 412 is connected a curvedelastic portion 413. Themiddle portion 412 includes twohollow cylinders 414. The waistrest assembly plate 42 includes two protrudingcylinder 421 to be locked into thehollow cylinders 414 byscrews 83, so that the waistrest assembly plate 42 can be fixed on themiddle portion 412 of thesupport element 41. Thewaist rest assembly 40 is combined as shown inFIG. 6 . - The two
armrest assemblies 50 are inserted into therespective tube portions 12 of the connectingelement 10 and can be adjusted in height as desired. Since the height adjustment of thearmrest assemblies 50 is the conventional art, no further explanation is provided herein. - The
height adjusting apparatus 60 includes anouter tube 61, and aninner tube 62 which is connected to theloading plate 22 of theseat assembly 20 and inserted in theouter tube 61 in a liftable manner. Theinner tube 62 has its top end inserted into theinsertion portion 221 of theloading plate 22. Theheight adjusting apparatus 60 is an air pressure bar. Theloading plate 22 is provided with anoperating rod 63 for adjusting the height of theseat assembly 20 by operating theouter tube 61 and theinner tube 62. Since theheight adjusting apparatus 60 is conventional, no further explanation is provided herein. Theheight adjusting apparatus 60 is combined as shown inFIG. 8 . - The
leg assembly 70 is connected to theouter tube 61 of theheight adjusting apparatus 60. - The aforementioned is the summary of the positional and structural relationship of the respective components of the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
- For a better understanding of the present invention, its operation and function, reference should be made to the following description:
- To assemble the chair of the present invention, it only needs to lock the
seat assembly 20, the chair back 30 and thewaist rest assembly 40 to the connectingelement 10 first, and then therespect armrest assemblies 50 will be inserted into thetube portions 12 of the connectingelement 10, and theheight adjusting apparatus 60 will be assembled to theloading plate 22 of theseat assembly 20, and finally, theleg assembly 70 will be combined to theheight adjusting apparatus 60, thus finishing the assembly of the chair of the present invention. Hence, it can be found that the assembly of the present invention is quite simple, thus reducing the assembly cost. During the assembling process, the chair back 30, thewaist rest assembly 40 and the connectingelement 10 can be synchronously locked by a screwing operation as shown inFIG. 6 , consequently, indeed reducing the assembly cost of the chair with waist rest and armrests of the present invention. - It is to be noted that, the chair of the present invention comprises the connecting
element 10, theseat assembly 20, the chair back 30, thewaist rest assembly 40, the twoarmrest assemblies 50, theheight adjusting apparatus 60 and theleg assembly 70, thewaist rest assembly 40 includes thesupport element 41 and the waistrest assembly plate 42, and thearmrest assemblies 50 are available in the market, so that the chair with waist rest and armrests in accordance with the present invention only comprises a small number of simple components, thus reducing the cost in production and assembly. - While we have shown and described various embodiments in accordance with the present invention, it is clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Claims (7)
1. A chair with waist rest and armrests comprising:
a connecting element including a main body, two tube portions disposed at both sides of the main body, two cylinder portions which are disposed at both sides of the main body between the two tube elements;
a seat assembly including a cushion body disposed on an upper end surface of the main body of the connecting element, and a loading plate which is disposed on a lower end surface of the main body of the connecting element and locked to the cushion body;
a chair back including a back rest plate, and two tube elements which are connected to the back rest plate and engaged on the two cylinder portions of the connecting element;
a waist rest assembly including a support element and a waist rest assembly plate, the support element being locked between the two tube elements of the chair back and including two locking portions to be used to lock the tube elements and the cylinder portions, and a middle portion between the two locking portions, the waist rest assembly plate being disposed on the middle portion; and
two armrest assemblies being inserted into the respective tube portions of the connecting element;
a height adjusting apparatus including an outer tube, and an inner tube which is connected to the loading plate and inserted in the outer tube in a liftable manner; and
a leg assembly being connected to the outer tube of the height adjusting apparatus.
2. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the cushion body includes a seat plate which is disposed on the upper end surface of the main body and locked to the loading plate, and a soft cushion engaged on the seat plate.
3. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the loading plate, the main body and the seat plate are locked together through screws.
4. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the locking portions of the support element, the tube elements of the chair back and the cylinder portions of the connecting element are locked together through screws.
5. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a curved elastic portion is connected between the respective two locking portions and the middle portion of the support element of the waist rest assembly.
6. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the middle portion of the support element of the waist rest assembly includes hollow cylinders, and the waist rest assembly plate of the waist rest assembly includes protruding cylinders to be inserted into the hollow cylinders of the support element.
7. The chair with waist rest and armrests as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the loading plate of the seat assembly includes an insertion portion for insertion of a top end of the inner tube of the height adjusting apparatus.
