Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention generally relates to containers. More specifically, the present invention is a tray used for storing personal items in a sanitary manner.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Whether traveling for business or pleasure—staying in an upscale resort, “A” deck on a cruise ship or in a budget motel—storing and organizing small personal items in an easily accessible, sanitary environment always presents a problem. Items such as toothbrushes, dentures, glasses, contact lens, rings, hearing aids, etc. should be stored in a place that is easily accessible and relatively sanitary. Bedside tables and bathroom counters in public venues do not meet both criteria. Thus a sanitary tray for personal objects solving the aforementioned problems is desired.
  • Whether supplied by the lodging industry as a courtesy for their guests or purchased by an individual from a retail outlet, this invention would make a convenient and more sanitary way for temporary storage of said personal items while traveling.
  • There are multitudes of trays disclosed in the related art. Pertinent examples of such trays are cited and identified in the accompanying IDS. However, none of the known, related art discloses a tray for holding personal objects as will subsequently be described and claimed in the instant invention.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is drawn to a sanitary tray for holding personal objects. As contemplated the tray can be used by hotels, motels, cruise liners, sports and recreational clubs and any facilities wherein guests may desire to temporarily store personal items. As noted above, such personal item may take the form of personal grooming objects and/or other objects of intimate use that the user may want to store in a sanitary environment. The tray is fabricated from suitable plastic material and includes cavities specifically formed to contain items in an organized manner. One embodiment of the invention is provided with a lid whereby the tray can be optionally closed. The tray may be fabricated in different sizes, different colors and can be embossed with the logo or name of the establishment that is providing the tray to the guests.
  • Accordingly, the invention presents a tray that is utilized to store and arrange small personal items in a sanitary and organized manner. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes.
  • A clear understanding of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an environmental, perspective view of a first embodiment of a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of a first embodiment of a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of a second embodiment of a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 4 is a partial view showing the vent construction of a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 is a partial, sectional view showing the vent construction for a cover of a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 is a plan view of a cover for a sanitary tray for personal objects according to the present invention.
  • Similar reference characters denote corresponding features consistently throughout the attached drawings.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Attention is first directed to FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 wherein a first embodiment of the sanitary tray is generally indicated at 10. Tray 10 comprises a bottom portion 12 having an array of cavities 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 therein. Cavities 14, 16, 18 are configured to contain personal objects such as jewelry (other than rings) hearing aids, glasses, contact lens, pens, pencils and the like. Cavities 20 and 22 are bottom portion 12. Posts 26 are adapted to support and store rings thereon. A lid 30 is integrally hinged at 30 a to the rear edge of bottom portion 12 to allow a user to close the tray if desired. Structure 32, 34 is respectively provided on lid 30 and bottom portion 12 for latching the lid in a closed position. The top of the lid is embossed with a logo or the like.
  • To economize, the tray can be fabricated without the lid as shown in FIG. 3. A ledge 12 a is provided for the display of a logo or the like.
  • It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.
