Description
- The present invention relates in general to a monitor supporting and rotating structure, and more particularly, to a flat panel display supporting and rotating structure, by which a monitor is capable of being erected and rotated.
- In recent years, liquid crystal display (LCD) technology has progressed rapidly. This rapid progress has been fueled by the preference consumers have shown for the LCD, which is due, in large part, to the LCD's better image quality and space conservation.
- A conventional LCD monitor is shown in
FIG. 1 . The outer structure of a conventional LCD monitor includes a flat panel display 1 a, a supportingstand 2 a pivotally connected to the display 1 a, and arotatable fixing plate 3 a which is installed onto the top of the supportingstand 2 a. The supportingstand 2 a has abase mount 21 a which is installed beneath the bottom thereof in order to erect the supportingstand 2 a. The rear of the display 1 a is securely connected to therotatable fixing plate 3 a. The display 1 a is thereby suspended above a table and capable of left-handed, right-handed, forward, and backward rotation. - However, the supporting
stand 2 a is an attachment of the display 1 a. A consumer must personally assemble the supportingstand 2 a onto the display 1 a. Further, the volume of a conventional supporting stand is large and takes up a great deal of space. The conventional LCD supporting stand is, therefore, inconvenient for consumers. - The present invention provides a monitor supporting and rotating structure which is utilized to prop up a flat panel display. The monitor supporting and rotating structure both facilitates the mobility of the monitor and its efficient usage of space.
- The monitor supporting and rotating structure which is provided by the present invention includes a supporting stand and a rotary member pivotally attached to the top of the supporting stand. The rotary member has a fixing plate which is screwed onto the rear of a monitor. A rotating plate is pivotally connected to both the fixing plate and the supporting stand. The fixing plate is capable of left-handed, right-handed, forward, and backward rotation, relative to the rotating plate. The supporting stand is capable of being propped outward. It is by propping the supporting stand away from the display that the display is oriented and erected above a plane. Further, the rotary member enables the display to perform left-handed, right-handed, forward, or backward rotations.
- These and other objectives of the present invention will become obvious to those of ordinary skill in the art after reading the following detailed description of preferred embodiments.
- It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary, and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
- These as well as other features of the present invention will become more apparent upon reference to the drawings therein:
-
FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a conventional supporting stand for a monitor. -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a monitor and a supporting and rotating stand of the present invention before connection. -
FIG. 3 is a rear perspective view of a monitor and a supporting and rotating stand of the present invention after connection. -
FIG. 4 is a rear view of a monitor with a supporting and rotating stand of the present invention installed. -
FIG. 5 is a rear perspective view of a monitor which is propped up by a supporting and rotating stand of the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a rear view of a monitor, which illustrates the rotary function of the supporting and rotating stand of the present invention. - Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers are used in the drawings and descriptions to refer to the same or like parts.
- Referring to
FIGS. 2 and 3 , the present invention is applied to a LCD monitor in order to erect theLCD 1 above a plane, and to enable theLCD 1 to perform left-handed, right-handed, forward, or backward rotations. The monitor supporting and rotating structure includes a supportingstand 2 which has a hollow, approximately rectangle configuration, and arotary member 3 which is pivotally connected to the top of the supportingstand 2. - The
rotary member 3 includes afixing plate 31, apivotal axis 32, and arotating plate 33. Thefixing plate 31 is screwed onto areceptive space 11 of theLCD 1. By utilizing thepivotal axis 32, therotating plate 33 is pivotally connected to thefixing plate 31. The other side of therotating plate 33 is also pivotally connected to the supportingstand 2. Thefixing plate 31 is thereby made capable of performing left-handed, right-handed, forward, or backward rotations, relative to the rotatingplate 33. The supportingstand 2 is, thereby, capable of being opened outward. - Referring to
FIG. 2 , aframe stand 12 is installed around the circumference of theLCD 1. Theframe stand 12 is formed by assembling atop beam 121, aright beam 122, aleft beam 123, and abottom beam 124. Ahandle portion 125 is formed utilizing thetop beam 121. A specific distance is also preserved between the bottom of theLCD 1 and thebottom beam 124. Additionally, acover plate 4 caps therotary member 3 and is fixed at the rear of theLCD 1. Thiscover plate 4 functions as a protective housing for therotary member 3. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , a rear perspective view and a rear view of a monitor with a supporting and rotating structure of the present invention installed are shown respectively. To assemble the monitor supporting and rotating structure, thefixing plate 31 and therotating plate 33 are pivotally assembled together. Then the rotatingmember 3 is attached to the supportingstand 2. Thefixing plate 31 is screwed onto the reservedreceptive space 11 which is located at the rear of theLCD 1 through the utilization of a plurality of bolt elements. It is thought the above procedure that the monitor supporting and rotating structure is securely connected to theLCD 1. After this secure connection is obtained, therotary member 3 is then capped by thecover plate 4. Thecover plate 4 is securely attached to the rear of theLCD 1. - Referring to
