Jokers 21 is a blend card game with the playing method of Casino War and Blackjack (twenty-one) that multiple players engage in taking turns to play their own hand against to dealer's hand. A method of playing Jokers 21 card game comprises a dealer and at least one player. It uses a shoe with six decks or eight decks of standard playing card with jokers (54 cards of each deck). In conjunction with standard rules of both Casino War and Blackjack card game, the jokers serve as a winning card. Any hand with a joker is automatically won. The Jokers 21 also allows players to wager on four different betting choices, One Card bet, One Card Tie bet, Jokers 21 bet, and Jokers 21 Tie bet.

  • BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
  • A. Twenty-One (Blackjack) is a card game that players play their own hand to against the dealer's hand. The object of the game is to achieve a highest point, 21. Any total number is over 21 will be consider as bust; player will lose their bet; dealer has to pay the player who still have a valid hand.
      • 1. According to standard rule of the traditional Blackjack, one or multi decks of standard playing cards are used and each card, from 2 to 9, counts its face value, except Aces and face cards. Ace has a value of one or eleven. All the face cards are count as ten.
      • 2. Each participating player and dealer initially receives two cards. Both players and dealer may draw additional cards (take a hit) in order to improve their hand or stand (not taking additional card) according to house rule. Players may surrender or doubling down before the third card is drew.
      • 3. Dealer has to stand on 17 or soft 17 and hit 16 (or soft 17) in some casinos. Dealer has to stand on 17 and hit on 16 or soft 17 in some casinos.
      • 4. Players can split pairs (identical numerical cards). Dealer can't split pairs.
      • 5. Players can buy the insurance when dealer has an ace as the face up card.

  • B. Casino War is a card game that both dealer and player only get one card for their hand.
      • 1. Casino War uses multi decks of standard playing card. All the cards are count its face value, Ace is higher than King, King is higher than Queen, Queen is higher than Jack, Jack is higher than 10, and so on.
      • 2. The object of Casino War is to get the highest number of the card to bet the dealer's card. When there is a tie hand occur, player can choose to surrender the hand to get half of the original wager back or go to the war with same amount of the original wager.

  • Jokers 21 is a two in one card game that players will have more choices to place their wager. It provides players the chance to play two games, Blackjack and Casino War at the same time. Jokers 21card game contains most of the rules of traditional Blackjack and some of the method of playing of Casino War.
  • Based on the method of playing traditional Blackjack, Jokers 21 players have to place their ante bet, initial wager or bet, before any cards are dealt.
  • In traditional Blackjack card game, cards are dealt from multiple decks of standard 52 playing cards without two jokers. There is no need to put out additional wager to get another card to compete dealer's hand.

Claims (24)

1. A method of playing Jokers 21 comprising:
(a) Multiple players making an initial wager on One Card Bet or Jokers 21 Bet or both to play against house dealer by using six decks or eight decks of standard playing card with jokers (54 cards of each deck).
(b) Ace is count as 1 or 11. All the face cards, such as king, queen, and jack, are count as 10. All other cards from 2 to 9 are count as “pip” value, a number value of the card. Joker is the Winning Card; it is not the wild card.
(c) Both players and house dealer are dealt two cards initially, one at time. The first card dealt from the shoe is for playing One Card Bet. The second card dealt from the shoe combines with first card to make the two initial cards for playing Jokers 21 Bet
(d) Players who wager on One Card Bet will be dealt only one card, first card.
(e) Both players who wager on Jokers 21 and house dealer will be dealt two cards initially and can draw additional cards to improve their hands.
(f) The house dealer's hand is comparing to each player's hand; the hand with the highest point (numerical value of the cards) wins the game. The hand with Joker is higher than Blackjack and 21.
(g) The total point, 21, is the higher point a hand can get; any point is over 21will being considered as a bust hand.
(h) A face card or 10 with an ace make a hand called Blackjack. A blackjack hand is higher then 21. The joker is the winning card. Any hand with a joker is automatically won.

(k) Players can split any identical numerical value cards, such as, two 9s, two 8s, two 7s, two 6s, two 5s, two 4s, two 3s, and two 2s, as many times as they want. Players can split Aces only one time and get one card only. Players cannot split tens and pair of face cards, such as, King, Queen, and Jack.
(l) Players can double down on any total number of cards with any numerical value the total is not 21.
(m) When players and dealer have the same total point value, it is a tie, no win or lost.
(n) Players can place a minimum wager $1.00 up to their ante (original bet on Jokers 21or One Card) on the tie to get 5 to 1 bonus (It cab be vary. It depends on the casino policy or promotion.).
2. The method of claim 1, wherein participate players have to place a wager, any amount from table minimum to table maximum, in order to receive the initial one card or two cards, face-up, one at a time. (First card is playing One Card Bet. The second card combines with first card to play the Jokers 21 Bet.)
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the cards are dealt clockwise and face up one at a time to each player first, then the dealer at the first rotation for playing One Card Bet.
4. The method of claim 1, at the second rotation, all the cards for players are dealt clockwise and face-up; dealer 's card is dealt face down (hole card). The second card combines with first card makes the two initial cards for playing Jokers 21 Bet.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein any hand, player or dealer, has a joker won automatically. Player gets 3 to 1 (it can be vary) paid right away either the first card or second card is a joker (do not have to compete with dealer's hand).
6. The method of claim 1, all the player's hands are lost when dealer's face up card is joker. There is no need to deal the second card. The player who wagers on One Card Bet or Joker 21 Bet or both has a joker, as the first card, will get pay for both 3 to 1 for a Joker Bet and the 5 to 1 for a Tie hand if the player has wager on the Tie Bet
7. The method of claim 1, Blackjack hand gets pay immediately when dealer's face up card is not an ace.
8. The method of claim 1, when dealer has an ace as face up card and a joker as face down card (hole card), all the hands are lost including Blackjack hand (if the player chooses not to take blackjack payout).
9. The method of claim 1, when dealer has an ace as face up card, players who have a blackjack hand can buy the insurance with up to half of their original bet on Jokers 21 Bet If dealer's face down card (hole card) is joker, players who buy the insurance will lose the original bet and get two to one for the insurance bet. If dealer's face down card (hole card) is ten, it is a blackjack, the blackjack hand is a push and the Jokers 21 tie bet (if players wager on the Jokers 21 Tie) will get pay.
10. The method of claim 1, wherein players can place any amount of the wager up to one half of their original bet to buy the insurance when dealer's face up card is Ace. If dealer has a blackjack or a joker as a hole card, players lost their ante bet and get 2 to 1 paid for their insurance wager. If dealer does not have a blackjack or a joker as a hole card, players lose the insurance wager.
11. The method of claim 1, wherein when players and dealer have the same total point value, it is a tie, no win or lose. When players and dealer have the same numerical value, it is a push; neither player won nor dealer won. Players can place a minimum wager $1.00 up to their ante (original bet on One Card Bet or Jokers 21 Bet) on the tie to win the bonus 5 tol.
12. The method of claim 1, wherein player who has a Blackjack hand can choose to take Blackjack payout instead to compare with dealer's hand when dealer's face up card is an Ace. Or, player who has a Blackjack hand can choose to buy the insurance with half of the bet. If dealer has a joker as a hole card, the blackjack hand and all other hands lost; however players will get 2 to 1 paid for their insurance wagers. If dealer does not have a joker as a hole card, the insurance wagers lost. If dealer has a face card or ten as a hole card (which is a blackjack), the blackjack hand gets push and the insurance wager gets paid 2 to 1; all other hands lost and get 2 to 1 paid for the insurance wager.
13. The method of claim 1, wherein players may take additional cards (hit) until he/she successfully reaches the total point 21 or exceeds 21 (bust). Player has a bust hand lost the wager.
14. The method of claim 1, wherein the player may stand (not take any additional cards) any time after hit (take additional card) one or more than on card.
15. The method of claim 1, wherein player may place additional wager that is not over the total amount of his/her ante (double down) to receive one additional card. Players can double down any time, not limited in the first two cards. After double down, player can rescue their wager by losing only the ante of his/her hand and get the double down money back.
16. The method of claim 1, wherein dealer has to stand on 17 and hit on 16 and soft 17 (ace and 6) or soft 16 (ace and 5).
17. The method of claim 1, wherein players gets paid even money when dealer busts the hand or has less point value than players.
18. The method of claim 1, the players who wager on One Card Bet will get only one card; the house dealer's hand is comparing to each player's hand; the hand with the highest number (numerical value of the cards) wins the game.
19. The method of claim 1, the players who wager on Jokers 21 will get two cards initially and have the choice to draw additional cards, surrender their hand, split any identical numerical value cards and rescue the double wager; the house dealer's hand is comparing to each player's hand; the hand with the highest point (numerical value of the cards) wins the game.
20. The method of claim 1, the players who wager on both One Card Bet and Jokers 21 will get two cards initially, one at a time. The first card dealt from the dealer plays the One Card Bet is part of the cards for playing Jokers 21. Dealer will not lock the card after paid or took the wager on the One Card Bet in order for players to play the Jokers 21.
21. The method of claim 1, in order playing the Tie, the players have to make at least one wager, One Card Bet or Jokers 21 Bet,
22. The method of claim 1, when dealer and player both get a joker as the first card, it is a tie. Player will get pay for the Joker and tie hand if player has wager on the tie bet.
23. The method of claim 1, when player has a joker as first card and wagers on both One Card Bet and Jokers 21Bet, the player will get pay (3 to 1) for both One Card Bet and Jokers 21Bet.
24. The method of claim 1, 3 to 1 for a Joker only apply to the initial first card and second card. When player takes a hit (additional card), and it is a joker, the hand wins even money only immediately.
